Went Down Hill
I've played here before and it was always nicely maintained and lively. This time we went on a packed Saturday afternoon and it was a shell of the course it used to be.
The sign is dilapidated first off. Bag boys were just hanging out on their phones sitting in carts. No help offered before or after the round. No liquor license and the kitchen was closed. Last time I played here they had the BBQ going and food available and ready on the turn. Now, a convenience store hot dog turner and bags of chips. 5 dollar dogs and 3.50 single serving bags of chips.
The ranger we talked to was nice but the golf pro inside was less then enthused to be there. Signs everywhere stating that there are no rainchecks LOL. Like golfers want to see that posted everywhere. Even the ranger said that the policy was driving business away and that golfers were mad about that.
Tee boxes were all tore up and the greens were the same. Bunkers horrible, haven't been maintained all season it seems.
Just a shell of a course it used to be. Not sure if it's new owners or what, but they need to make a big change and fast. If I were a house owner around the course I'd be mad.
Take your money somewhere else.
Great course layout
Excelebt layout challenging holes but peiple dont fix their divots on green.
great shape
I haven't had the pleasure of golfing here for a few years and the course is in the great shape that I remember.
The greens ran true, but lightning fast.
Weds morning round
We had a 2 some booked for 1034. Showed up early and got to the tee box on time. Caught the 4 some in front of us immediately. Asked to play through after 4-5 holes. 2 holes later we catch the next group. The round finished at 6 hrs.
We stopped for a snack at the turn. There is limited options. Self serve hot dogs. NO ALCOHOL. Cold Gatorade. I grabbed a pack of donuts and a small Gatorade and was charged $8!
The 1 person working the staff was rude and seemed troubled by the couple questions I had. Told me to ask golf now for the answers.
The course is in ok shape. It’s challenging. Not as challenging as dealing with the staff and ownership. There is no chance I would pay to play here again.
Holiday Play
Four of us got together to play on the 4th. The course was in really good shape. The pace of play was fine…4 hrs & 15 minutes. Overall very enjoyable.
Meh
Seems like it would be a good track, but management is letting Blackheath and Glacier Club just wither out. No off-course amenities, employees who do not want to be there, and prices for food that is commiserate with much finer courses. Good to pass on this one.
Great course but amenities not there
They have closed to bar and restaurant and used to serve beer in the pro shop tried to get a few drinks at the turn was told they no longer have a liquor/beer license… also notice on the counter saying they no longer will be issuing rain checks for any reason
Nice course
No alcohol sold on course. I’m not a big drinker, but I like to have a beer if it’s hot.
BYOB
We were not greeted at the bag drop. So we just dropped off our clubs came back and load them on a random card. We checked in, got a couple of tokens for a large bucket of balls. The golf balls are terrible, they were bald and dirty….
Before going the first tee, Stopped in the clubhouse to buy a couple of, beers. He said they lost their liquor license.
Course layout is beautiful, course conditions were very good. Greens were very difficult as they were undulating and fast..
