Great course but amenities not there
They have closed to bar and restaurant and used to serve beer in the pro shop tried to get a few drinks at the turn was told they no longer have a liquor/beer license… also notice on the counter saying they no longer will be issuing rain checks for any reason
Nice course
No alcohol sold on course. I’m not a big drinker, but I like to have a beer if it’s hot.
BYOB
We were not greeted at the bag drop. So we just dropped off our clubs came back and load them on a random card. We checked in, got a couple of tokens for a large bucket of balls. The golf balls are terrible, they were bald and dirty….
Before going the first tee, Stopped in the clubhouse to buy a couple of, beers. He said they lost their liquor license.
Course layout is beautiful, course conditions were very good. Greens were very difficult as they were undulating and fast..
Great track!
Great bang for your buck. Most of the greens are elevated, some severe so you better have a good approach shot or your going to have a test to get it up and down. Greens are challenging, don’t think there’s many straight puts out there. Everything breaks but they roll great! The greens were in very good shape! Range could be a little better if there were yardage markers to hit to, just a big open area with no targets.
Bad Starter
I payed for a twilight round and the starter told us that the course was closed at 7:30 PM even though the signs on the door said “carts in by 8:40PM”. Told the starter that I paid for twilight and he just shook his head no and said we had to leave. Not going to be playing Glacier any time soon.
Slooooow
Way to slow. They send people off too close together. I would hesitate to play it again because it's more than an hour too much time.
Good course
I’ve played many many rounds here…
Pros
-Great course for the $$
-Conditions are typically good. Fairways groomed, roughs kept in check, nice tee boxes, good green complexes, nice sand, etc.
-Enjoyable course design. You will use all the clubs in your bag.
-Outdoor plumbing with restrooms on multiple holes (this is huge for lady golfers)
-Above average practice facilities, including range and putting/chipping green
-Nice golf carts
Cons
-Pace of play can be slow at times. Plan accordingly during peak times.
-Lacks “up north” feeling. It’s built throughout a subdivision, albeit a nice one. Not a problem for me but some people want the up north feeling with elevation changes and tree lined fairways. This isn’t one of those courses. (As a side note, the subdivision houses often create wind tunnels that create predictable wind direction conditions on many holes. Because of this, most of the holes often play down wind, especially the front 9, which can be fun once you catch on to these patterns)
And more recently…
They lost their liquor license (as of this review on 4-10-23) This might not matter to the sober golfer but I certainly enjoy throwing back a cold one while playing. I’m sure they are working to get this back as it’s a huge revenue loss, but it’s worth mentioning as a short term negative. Plan accordingly.
All in all, I enjoy this course. I’ve been playing here for years and I play here multiple times every year.
Good Day
The course was in very good shape for this time of year. The greens rolled nicely even though they had the aerations on them. Piece of clay was a little over 4 hours. Me and my playing Partners did put out a little fire off to the left of the 16th Green in the woods.
