Bay Pointe Golf Club

Bay Pointe formerly Bay Pointe Country Club at $35.00 is a good value. I used my GolfNow points so free to me (sort of). I wish they had a middle tee. They have Gold Tee at 6,231 and Silver at 4,906. I wish they had a middle tee around 6,000. For an example the 2 holes from the Gold Tee are 389 and 438 yards. If I were a golf course architect, I would make the the first 2 or 3 holes more scoreable to all players to feel good and warm up. I suppose you could play a combo tee box to add up to 6,000 yards. Also, you'll find the "bay" in Bay Pointe comes into play on #6 - #9 and you'll find water strategically place on holes #10, #11#17 and #18 so watch out and be prudent in your shot making. You'll likely lose a few balls, but if you're average handicap golfer that keeps it in play you'll have fun. Course conditions OK, but not great.

Course was in good shape. Staff was friendly. Was crowded and a 5+ hour round but they did have most groups in foursomes.

Golf layout is classic and a very challenging course from the back tees.

On the positive side, the greens are in very good shape. On the negative side, the tee boxes are very poorly maintained. Also, the cart paths are in terrible shape and need to be replaced. The cart fleet is pathetically old and dirty as well.

I really enjoy this course. Greens are fun and challenging. However pace of play has been an issue the last several times I’ve played. 8AM (5 hours) 11AM, (5 1/2 hours), 12PM (9 holes 2 hours 45 minutes; left after 9 holes). I want to go back but don’t want a 5-6 hour round on a relatively short course. NEEDS MORE RANGER PRESENCE ON THE COURSE TO PUSH PLAY.

The course was well maintained and the staff was great.

Have played this course for many years. First time playing here this year and it is in noticeably worse condition than years prior. Hope they can get it back to its prior condition.

Played 9 holes at Baypointe 40 years ago this summer. Was a guest of a member and had forgotten the name of the course we played - I lived in Ohio at the time. As soon as I drove in, I remembered that this was the course I was searching for to play again. I was thinking it was Farmington Hills CC. Played in fairly good time on front nine, then was slow on the back nine - a little tougher track on the back 9 - but 2:25 was a bit much. Only other complaint is on 1 of the holes (I think 17) that is near a pond, we had to fight off biting flies the entire stretch of that hole. None prior to that and none coming in on 18. Should consider spraying around the pond which has a lot of stagnant water along the banks. Tough to get ready to hit a shot and putt when getting bit by about 3 of those suckers at a time. And they don't go away, until you move away from the hole. Apparently they know their boundaries? Strange

Need to space out Tee times pace of play 6.5 hours, Need to make singles and twosomes pair up at start. 3 groups on every hole
