Sound of Music!
So many beautiful hills that made this course challenging but a lot of fun! Will definitely come back!
Very Challenging
This was our first time playing here and was pleasantly surprised. Staff were very friendly when we arrived and answered several of our questions about the course. The course conditions were excellent fairways tight and rough deep and penalizing. Extremely hilly with a lot of blind shots but the greens were soft and held shots beautifully.
The back 9 is even more challenging than the front with 2 very difficult par 5s and some blind shot par 4s that you are going to have to play placement golf.
It's a drive from the north side of the cities but worth it.
NoBogeys
My second time playing Gopher Hills. Just as it's named, it's "hilly." Because of the "hilliness," I'd definitely recommend playing from the correct tees; moving up a tee box and putting your pride aside for this course. No GPS on the carts, which in this golfer's opinion should be at 99% of the courses at this point. I have enjoyed playing here both times and I'll be back again.
Note:
To start your round off good, I highly recommend keeping your driver in the bag Hole #1. 3-Wood, 5-Wood, Hybrid or Long Iron off of the tee is best, unless you're a big hitter and can cut the dogleg right corner. Also, the wind was also a factor both times I played, especially on the Front-9.
Gopher hills
golfed with my 2 sons and it was a perfect day out, course was in great shape and pace of play was adequate. will be back
Great course value
Great course value. Greens, tee boxes, fairways all in pretty good shape. Golfers seem to care for the greens here as not too many divots not repaired.
Loved it! Hidden Treasure
The course is nicely kept, the aprons were like royalty plush, and the course wasn’t a man eater. Will definitely return.
Check it out
First time down to this gem south of the cities. The he course was in great shape given the time of year. Staff were awesome and it was just an overall good outing. We will be back.
Much improved...
This is a fun but challenging course. The greens are quite fast and well cared for. Driver is taken out of your hands often if you want to score well. If you want to hit bombs you can do that too, but you might have to take some medicine.
On top of that the practice green and practice tee have been improved.
You can't beat the value if you're willing to drive a little bit out of the way.
