A Hidden Gem
Tucked away in a Hastings neighborhood you will find a really nice course. Long, challenging, with fast greens and always in great shape. Can be slow on the weekends. The facilities are great. The staff is friendly.
Best Value in Minnesota?
I played this course for the first time ever 2 weeks ago and I have played it twice more since. The first points that this place scored were in the clubhouse. The young man running the desk has a gift for customer service that shouldn’t go unmentioned. I can’t recall his name but he puts in a noticeable effort to be kind, respectful, and accommodating. I think the best way to describe the golf course is well kept and challenging, but fair. I don’t think I have played a single course in the entire Twin Cities area that can compete with the quality and layout of Hastings Golf Club in the same price range.
Tough
I waited to post this review but feel people have a right to know. Worst golfing experience of my life. Ranger acted like a general. Got on our case on second hole and started threatening us. He then started following us and watching us on almost every hole. He let his cronies play through after 9 holes. We finished in 2 hours and 8 minutes. We wound up waiting for them for 20 minutes to reach the 10th tee., ;let Ranger would not let us out. We wound up waiting on that group on several holes. Just absolutely ruined the whole experience. Did not play well because of it. So its hard to like a course under those circumstances. I can't say I ever plan to go back.
Starter and golf shop needs to get on the same page
My experience to start out was not good at all. You should fire your starter. When I checked in at the pro shop the kid behind the counter said it'd be no problem to go out as a single. He could squeeze me in and gave me a key to the cart. I got down to to the first hole and the starter doesn't even say welcome. Thank you for coming hello instead. He says you're being paired up with these three. I explained to him that the kid in the pro shop said I could go out as a single, the two older people said they wanted to play just by themselves too. Too the kid on the tee box. He didn't say anything.. to make matters even worse he told me they don't have enough carts and I have to hand him that key and be paired up with this kid. I felt like telling him you running out of carts is not my problem but I was polite and only told him that you and the pro shop need to get on the same page. There's some constructive criticism for you. So on a beautiful day you had three out of four ticked off people but it ended up that we all got along really good and had a good round and I love the course.
Nice course
We had a great time on a very nice course with very interesting layout ! Few places on fairways were a bit rough but mostly in good condition, especially tee boxes and greens!
Challenging greens
Course layout was a bit weird. If you like challenging greens with subtle breaks this is the course for you.
Great course for everyone to play
Well-maintained course with classy clubhouse. The challenge is ideal for intermediate golfers, but beginners can enjoy the course play. For me, the range-finder on the cart was very helpful.
Course was in great shape with a nice variety of holes! Fairways and greens were well maintained. Pace of play was good. Carts seemed new (with GPS). Definitely worth a short drive from Mpls. My only suggestion would be to have water on the course (all water stations were empty)
Well-maintained course
Great course for intermediate and advanced golfers. The grounds were in excellent condition.
Great Course, nice carts, fast greens!
My buddies and I enjoyed almost everything about this course! Very nice greens and fun unique holes! Unfortunately I can’t give it a 5/5 due to the 18th hole being closed off, with no heads up or warning and then when we called and asked about it they acted like we should’ve known? Kind of gave us a bad taste right as we finished but all together id be back and would recommend
