Nice Mature Course with Quick Greens
Had an enjoyable round here. Started around 2 on a Friday and the course was fairly empty so pace was great. The course has very nice and quick greens. Probably the quickest I've played in quite some time. Had a good mix of pin placement where you can get aggressive but also a few protected by bunkers. The course is fairly tight together but the mature trees help keep people on their own holes which is a bonus. Fairways are also cut pretty short so if you hit them your ball will run. All in all I recommend the course and is worth a trip down from the metro.
Well run at pro shop.
Great for a muni course and great snack shop in central location within the course.
old style course; 17 has 200 yard carry over water
course in good shape; course was busy, felt a little pushed; great value having obtained 2 for 1 w/cart from GolfNow
Course needs some work.....
Lots of damaged greens and fairways.
Weeds and mud.
Great value
1st time out for our late Spring season. Great value. Several areas of winter kill.
A tight course that will challenge your accuracy!
Upon arrival in the clubhouse I was greeted in a friendly manner at the counter. Upon hearing that I used GolfNow the manager asked me how much I paid. When I informed him he was shocked that I was able to play for that price.
The course itself was in pretty good condition, albeit a bit wet, with the exception of the bunkers. They were often times very wet and the sand was really more of a dirt texture. It was very difficult to play out of them. However they did not have rocks which is a plus.
The layout is very tight. If you are a player like me, you often times miss the fairway right or left by just a few yards. If you do that here you will pay the price as the mature trees often times leave you no option other than punching back out on the fairway. Unfortunately I had to learn this the hard way. Because of the tight layout this is a very challenging course for me even though it isn't particularly long and the greens aren't overly difficult.
Speaking of the greens, they were in very good shape for an early season round. They rolled true and the speed was very consistent from green to green. I had one of my best putting days ever (29 putts).
All in all this is a GREAT course for the money and one that I will probably play again. The biggest downside is the location. New Prague isn't exactly in the Twin Cities area and you have to be willing to go for a bit of a drive. For the price though it is well worth the trip.
