Rackham Golf Course

We booked a tee time for 5:20 on golf now for 18 holes. When we got to the course they said the carts had to be in by 8:30. That is not possible with the overbooked tee times.

It is amazing how bad of shape that this course is in. I understand that it's April but the course has barely been mowed. Where does the fairway start because it all looks like rough to me. The greens here were so nice not long ago. What has happened? How can you have no inventory in the pro-shop? I will not be returning this year.

I play Rackham several times each year. They just opened and course was in great shape. It may look easy due to lack of water, etc., but you will find this course very challenging.

Nice course, I enjoyed it. Was a bit disappointed cause I paid for 18 holes and due to the time was told I could only play 9. Was not offered a rain check or a voucher to play the 9..... But over all it was good...

This course is a mile from my house so I play it often. Pace of play is good depending on the day, generally can get a round in in under 4 hr. Value is good and there is no water on the course. Some areas on the course are alway beat up but I expect this for a public course in the city. Roped off areas on 30% of the holes. It's tough to loss a ball because the layout is wide open.

Surprisingly nice for an older course. Long and challenging but wide open and very playable.
Even though it was busy, moved very well.
Would play again

This is the neighborhood course. It's cool for a day out. Better than work.

Starters don't care about the pace of play. It took 3 hours for a 2 some to golf 9 holes on a Monday at 12:45pm. The starters didn't pair groups up and let 2 some after 2 some go out. We talked to them just before the turn and he basically told us he doesn't even care. Left after 9 holes and complained to the Pro shop and the lady said there is nothing she can do and that I am out of luck because I used Golf Now and that it isn't her problem that the starters are that way. I just walked away and said I don't worry about it I won't be back and left after 9 holes. I won't be back.

We had a good play. Course is nicely laid out for being in the city. Open, yet challenging.

Fairways are in poor shape.. Tee boxes are Very poor and not even.. Pace of play was like a snail for being at noon on a weds.. $20 round at best..

The price is too high for a open course. Sand traps are the only hazards, really. Course has not changed in forty years.

I forgot why I don't play this course any more. the fairways are burnt out or "under" repair on almost every hole. The pace of place was beyond slow on the front 9, and I was told that this was actually pretty good for the course:-( This course needs a major overhaul, but the ancients that play the course will continue to craw out of their coffins to tee it up there, with no regard for younger, more competitive golfers. Do not waste your money on this course, play where there are rangers and starters that actually do their job, and make sure that golfers are adhering to pace of place and golf rules. Oh, did I mention I was almost hit in the head with a stray golf shot (without so much as a fore or even an apology).

Nice enough course right in the heart of metro Detroit,but play was ridiculously slow for a wide open course. There's not a lot of places to lose a ball here, so what's the hold up?
I usually stay away,but after some time I'll give it another shot and then I remember why I stay away.
I guess that's true of all courses right in the metro area,though.

Rackham is always good in a pinch. Not the best track around. Fairways struggling but greens are in good shape . Plays long and a round can turn into a 5+hr. day because close to home for many. Would not play if I didn't get golfnow discount..

This is my local course, and I love it. For the price, it is in great shape, and is pretty challenging. They have lots of leagues and regulars so pace of play can slow down, but I have played many times as a single and have always enjoyed anyone I was grouped with.

If you have time for a 6 hour -18 riding then go for it. The course is cheaper and brings out the inexperienced golfers that do not understand rules or pace of play.

This course is over-booked with low fees and no rangers so every hacker in SE Michigan comes to enjoy a six hour round of un-replaced divots and lost balls.

If you are new to golf, this course is for you. If you want a good day on the links, anywhere us better than Rackham.

The course is open but challenging. It has some long par 3s. Beautiful greens and well maintained
