Detroit Gem
Grateful to have this terrific course nearby.
Well maintained and friendly staff.
Bad attitude
I was lectured by the older woman who obviously runs this place that her health and the staffs health is my responsibility. I was told I had to have a mask to pay my green fees. I do not have a mask on the golf course. I explained to her that I bought my teetimes off of Golfnow and we were wasting time arguing about masks when I could’ve already been out of there. She then tried to berate me by telling me that I should care about her staffs health. I then pointed out that the girl behind the counter taking my money had a mask that was not covering her nose. I told her if she’s going to lecture me about not wearing a mask she should lecture her staff about not properly wearing one either. She then told me how she treats her staff is her business. I replied by telling her how she treats her customers is my business.
Very nice muni
Old Donald Ross course. Greens in good shape. No water on course. Lot of doglegs. Bit pricey but fun and fair.
Great feeling course
Love the detail of the course, and character of the greens. Historic feel to the club from parking to in on the 18th green.
Great Greens. Great Pace
Quite a nice round. Pace of play was excellent and course is in nice shape. Greens are awesome!!!!
Terrible
Instead of apologizing after their disrespectful and arrogant employee ruined mine and my friends day the manager called us liars for mentioning the utter disrespect. On top of that the course was in terrible shape and moved at turtle speed. Stay Away
Changed pricing upon arrival
Our reservation was made through golfnow and it was supposed to be $25 per player for 18 holes walking. Once we checked in we were told new price, that allegedly changed due to holiday weekend, was $40. It’s not about extra $15 but about false advertising, there are much better courses to play than this one for $40 in Metro Detroit area. Pace of play was super slow. Will not be back to play Rackham.

Trash
They don’t care about the golfers. Pack as many in as you can, charge as much as you can, enforce all the rules possible. Course is average, but hour plus round, sit at the first hole waiting for an hour alone. Wear a mask, no booze, nobody washes the carts, but congregate at 1 with 2 dozen people for an hour
Flat
I only play here once or twice a year and found it to be a bit long for me @ 68 but senior tees play short. Played here because it is relativity flat and walking is the new norm. Not my first choice but is its golf during a crisis.
20 years ago this course was a gem in the city. Now it has a few issues with drainage.
Still worth the reduced rate. $15 to walk is great.
COVID Fail
Do not play this course if you are concerned about health in the pandemic. Despite making a tee time there was a massive line of golfers (probably 50-60) at the first tee. We were told that they were running 50 mins behind on tee times, which after discussing with others in line must have been to the course scheduling tee times only 2-3 minutes apart. Starters said they couldn’t do anything to help, saying it was all managements fault for overbooking the course. I finally convinced a starter to let our group go off the back nine, but it was still a nearly 6 hour round. I don’t understand how not enforcing tee time punctuality and allowing that many people to congregate is reflective of the social distancing regulations.
Better course
So easy Very widely General area,
But winding green and difficult pin layout today.
It’s unbalanced.
But I like this course.
Donald Ross Designed Course!!
Great simple course located in Huntington Woods. Too early in the season to give green condition report, but well worth the money to play in omen of the Donald Ross designed course Inn Detroit at very reasonable price!!
Staff was friendly and courteous. No starter to Ben found on the day I played but no problem amongst friendly players here!!
Nice Time
The course was in good condition. The pace of play was good. Course layout was not too challenging. Used golf now to get a good price.
