3 holes were difficult or impossible to play.
The rains affected the flooding and as a result, 2 or 3 holes were difficult or impossible to play.
The young man at the desk did not warn us of this.
And, we were the 1st ones out, but there were 2 groups that jumped ahead of us by the 10th hole.
Did the office allow this, or were the golfers creative. It caused a backlog on the back 9.
Ready for Play
The course is in good shape for late spring. Some repair areas that will hopefully be ready for summer.
I want to love this course...
The layout of this course is really fun, the staff is great and welcoming, the course seems like its fairly well taken care of, and overall I feel like I should love this course. That being said, I think twice was enough. The whole course is hard as a rock, so club distances with rollout were incredibly unpredictable (added 40 yards of roll out to my 7 IRON on two different holes). The greens were sooooooo slow and the grass was so long that it felt like the only place on the course I could get the ball to stick, but it made predictable putting impossible. On top of that there is not a lot of forgiveness for small misses. I lost more balls on this course than I care to count, and it wasn't even from horrible shots. There were a lot of places with steep drop-offs right next to the green or fairway where a slight miss spelled catastrophe. I landed two balls dead center on the green on 6 and lost both to the abyss behind it. A miss to the right of the green on 7 by mere inches results in a ball bounced well into the woods.
This course would be a great one to play regularly, because it would give you a chance to get to know what risks you can afford to take. I think top-tier golfers would also enjoy the challenge as a one-off, but as a casual player that has a bit of a drive to get there though, it really wasn't enjoyable.
Fun round
Had a great day...nice weather...course was in decent shape...greens were smooth
Pine island
Love the price when it’s a hot deal. Keep it up pine island. Conditions were great
A Fine Day at Pine Island
The pine island golf course is a nice layout with a small number of bunkers, a couple of holes with water and some pretty nice greens. We played on a busy Sunday but still moved along pretty good...less than 4 hour round. Not very many blind shots either...have fun
Good round
This is a great track, it has some challenging Par 3's and some good Par 5's. Course was in very good shape
Beware surprise closure
Prepaid for a round but on a gorgeous sunny day the course was closed. Pro shop attendant said they emailed everyone but I never got a notice that the course was closed. Me and a friend drove an hour each way for nothing. Most disappointing is that by the time we found that they weren’t going to open we missed any chance of playing somewhere else. Plenty of other courses around so no need to go back.
Course is in mint shape
I've never seen the course in such great shape, amazing job by the crew and staff!!
Solid course
April 6th and the course was in excellent shape.
Greens were rolling at a decent speed considering the time of year. For 23 bucks 18 holes and a cart it is a great golf value!
