Super busy
The course was overal in great condition. The greens had somw divots that other players didnt fix. The pace of play was terrible. 3hrs to do 10 holes before the group ahead of us let us play through. We didnt have a cart till 5 min after our tee time. Im assuming there was a tournament on in the morning. Beverages was cold. This is a nock on players not the course please clean your crap out of the cart you shouldnt make the starter clean your cart after use.
Great Value. Pace of Play could improve
Had a small group doing a scramble ahead of us which slowed the pace to a crawl. Perhaps allow more time after events to speed up the pace for non-event golfers.
Reconsider cart policy
I've been a loyal customer for 25 years at Rum River and this last tee time may be the last. 7:30 am tee time and I made a reservation as a single. There where at least 30 carts available and the starter asked me to share a cart with the threesome I got paired with, smh. "We run out of carts" he stated. Not the players problem!! Sounds like good old American greed again. They are always booked solid and make money hand over fist, but cannot invest in a few more carts??
Fun paced Memorial weekend round
First time out with honey to Rum River GC on a late Sunday morning. Paired with another twosome and we all got along. What a concept..! Course was in great shape considering all the rain we’ve had the last few weeks. We also all enjoyed an appetizer and cold beverage on patio afterwards. GolfNow hot deal pricing was a plus, but we’ll be back with or without next time, soon:)
Very good Value
This was the 1st time playing this course for my buddy and I and both enjoyed the round. Staff was very pleasant and welcoming when we arrived. The course layout was challenging as several driving holes with narrow landing areas created difficulties and club selection important. The only reason I wasn't able to give 5 stars on condition of course was due to several tee boxes were hard to find a level spot, and hole 11 is under repair. The only other negative was that it was sloppy wet due to all the rains we have had so not necessarily something they could control
Otherwise very pleased with the course and the value is great
Always manages to disappoint
I golf at Rum River Hills once per year. I have a pretty low bar for my expectations but somehow they always manage to disappoint. On this particular Sunday, we had a 9:20 tee time only to be told when we showed up that "something got screwed up" and we would not be able to tee off on time. So basically they crammed us (as well as a bunch of other tee times) in between other tee times. Of course, when we made the turn, we had about 30-40 minute wait. Front nine, 2 hours, back nine 3.5 hours. Also, the group in front of us had two bad carts that kept stalling and holding things up. I've said it before but I mean it this time. This is the last time I will golf here. Very poorly run and the course was built on a foot print that's big enough for about 14 holes.
January in Minnesota
The course held its own. There were decent challenges of water throughout the course, The bonus for the day was if you hit the ice transformed ponds, your ball had the possibility to bounce out; or you could brave walking out to hit it. :| Only one person in our group did this. 😎
VERY UPSET!
I played one hole with the three-sum I was paired with, a family of three who SAID they could not play and one was a 7 or 8 year old child. I tee'd off and waited for almost 10 minutes to take my second shot. So I just grabbed my bag and walked back to the starter. I could not get a rain-check or a refund because I booked via GolfNow... GolfNow would not give me a refund and I tried to speak and chat but nobody answered the phone or chat.
I typically will not play this course, but it was all that was available and I really wanted to play.
GolfNow wants to know how much fun I had playing, but they have no place to complain when you don't... so I had to eat $50.
Very Good condition compared to others
Great deal through Golf Pass. Good pace of play and the course was in better condition than most in the area.
Carts everywhere
During the course of a normal round it’s not uncommon to see a few maintenance carts roaming around but in the middle of summer this course had those maintenance carts driving around and making noise on every other hole making it very distracting to play. Pro shop staff also very rude for no reason.
