Saint Clair Shores Country Club

The course itself is decent. There’s water and a fair amount of sand but it’s not directly in your path. Clubhouse clerk was as grumpy as they come. Good course

I played the St. Clair Shores golf club course for the first time this week. It was a beautiful morning and I was second teatime of the day. Upon checking in in the clubhouse, I was told that the course was being measured and I would be able to play through the Survey crew and continue on with my game. Unfortunately, this was not the case, I would be on the green ready to put when I was joined by 4 to 6 people from the PGA who were measuring slope and dimensions of the green while I was trying to put, waiting to tee off a member of the survey team would walk onto the fairway and place a 6 foot high survey post in front of me And then continue to stand there move out the way so I could tee off. This occurrence happened at least nine or 10 of the 18 holes. And luck would have it they were also detaching the fairways this morning. Two different holes I was forced to wait for Approximately 20 minutes while the fairways were detached by tractor and two sets of golf carts, pulling blowers push the waist off the sides. There was zero sense of urgency from the ground crew nor any courtesy to move out of the way so I could tee off and then go back to work. During the times that I was tied up with the ground crew detaching the fairways, One of the times I was sprayed with trimmings when the blower car went by me, covering my car and myself, and the second time I was hit more directly and had grass blowing into my face. When I spoke with the course I was told it’s a necessary evil, and it has to be done. I understand all of that, but the overall experience of the course was extremely negative, the conditions were nice and the course was well kept but I will not be returning. I’ve never complained while playing golf before, but after paying money For my round, I was treated more as an inconvenience than a customer. Very disappointed.

Carts were nice, staff was nice. Price is pretty good for what you get compared to others in the area. Pace was overall pretty good. Could've been a little faster, but still was around 4 hours for 18

The course was in good shape. The greens were smooth.

The cart was just cleaned for us to use.

Booked a hot deal and this course is always in great shape and on par. Pace of play was good we were never waiting. Of course I’ll be back.

Great course...a local gem. Conditions are great while many courses in the area are rough this year. Layout is great and staff is wonderful. O ly drawback is pace...never been able to shoot a rou d in less than 4.5 hrs. They have a lot of walkers and pair them up with riders. Very frustrating waiting for walkers to stroll through the course chasing and looking for balls

This course is always in great shape. It’s tucked together pretty snug. Fun, good value!

I showed up early for my tee time to practice, was welcomed by the pro shop worker who was very friendly. We had a torrential down pour right around my tee time so I had a beer and lunch at the pub to wait it out. When I cleared I headed out there and despite the wet conditions I had a great time and shot my lowest score ever. Great course layout with a bunch of variety, and all made better by fast pace of play and very friendly staff all around. Would highly recommend to golfers of all levels. This may be my new home course!

Staff made me feel welcomed onto their well maintained course.

I booked through Golf Now, not sure that is why the clubhouse staff were quite disinterested in any conversation. Starter was rude and again, not interested in conversation.

The course was in very good shape, the PA play was fair and outside of the back nine running along 94 which made things a little loud and hard to hear conversation, The overall play was excellent. So outside of the staff, I think this is a great place to play. Maybe I caught them on a bad day. I will give it another shot one day.
