Confusing Course, not well marked
I'm not amazing at the game of golf and I don't ever expect to exceed casual in my efforts so by no means do I need to play any fancy courses. This course however I likely won't come back to. The pathway to the next hole is not marked well, there are few cart paths (many of them dirt tracks) that can be used as a loose guide to the next tee box. They have many holes which can be seen as a benefit but at the end of the day it adds to the confusion. Beyond that several fairways had bald spots that were as hard as cement if you were unfortunate enough to land there. None of the greens were cleaned up for the holiday weekend so debris was everywhere and they were thick which made putting difficult on many holes. In general they tried to build something great but fell short on the details that make a good course more enjoyable.
Fun recreational course
Friendly staff and very laid back atmosphere. A lot of fun if you’re just trying to get outside and enjoy the day with friends and refreshments. Course is laid out for beginners, and in okay shape.
A couple things to consider….
Thank you for a nice experience. I had a great time with my father, the staff was nice and the course was tough. I would respectfully request that signs be put up to properly direct golfers to the next hole. I played North and on hole 3 I was really on hole 5, it threw off my whole round. There were several times where I really didn’t know where I was going and only by luck did I end up on the correct next hole. And I know it’s early in the season but when you can get around to it, all the fallen timber and leave and brush should be cleaned up and the course should be maintained. I would also recommend an upgraded score card. (I could help in the creation of that). Thank you.
Not great, not terrible.
As many others have noted, pace of play is extremely slow. This is a product of overbooking. On one hand it’s nice to be able to get a last minute tee time, on the other hand, it’s almost not worth it considering how long the round takes. I understand it’s about making $$, but there has to be a happy medium between making money and ensuring your customers have a good time and come back.
Course isn’t horrible, but could certainly use quite a bit more upkeep.
Additionally, course could use a bit more clear and visible signage for each hole.
If you are in a pinch and just want to golf, it’ll do, but it would not be at the top of my list of courses that I’d come back to often.
Good Value
Excellent place to work on your game. Basic course layout without water hazards. Reasonable prices and friendly staff-will return.
Maple Lance Golf Club
the course was over booked...it took 3.5 hours to play a round of 9 holes...extremely slow and the course was in bad conditions i would not golf there again. Extremely disappointed and over priced
