Enjoyable experience
Played West and South. Decent pace, conditions were nice, bar cart was out. Great day.
Just ok
Course layout is fun, bunkers were horrible. Almost unplayable and tee boxes and spots of the fairway the same. Real issue is the lack of etiquette from the rangers and starters. Just a bunch of grumpy dudes that drive behind across fairways and teeboxes while youre hitting.
Used to be nice
Sycamore used to be a really nice course. Not sure what’s going on but over the last couple years I’ve noticed a downgrade the condition of the course. Fairways with large bare spots . Bumpy greens. Tee boxes ripped up. Today was Father’s Day and we played a round starting at 8 AM. Peace of play was awful. It was Father’s Day so that was to be expected but the fact that they schedule teetimes two minutes apart didn’t help that. We played 12 holes in 4 hours and decided that was enough.
Prices are up this year $65 now to play on a Sunday morning. The course conditions are the worst I’ve ever seen it. I’ve played this course over 30 times. The fairway on the west course sixth hole is atrocious. Tee boxes are in bad shape. Overhanging trees not trimmed. Can’t justify playing $65 to play this course.
Challenging But Great For All Skill Types
This is the second time I have played here and I am fairly new to golf. This course offers a lot of great challenging greens and is secluded amongst many trees. I highly recommend as the staff is wonderful and the course is extremely well maintained. Warning though, both times playing we ended up stuck behind a few players which slowed the pace of play a bit.
Slow
This course is always jam-packed and the pace of play is extremely slow. I will not play this course again.
Not the course it used to be
Traps not raked at all. I’ve played this course for over 20 years. This is the WORST SHAPE I’ve ever seen this course! I paid $59 and invited a friend who had never played. I was embarrassed.

Left early
We couldn't finish. Fairways missing grass. Hitting from bare clay, very compacted soil in the fairway. Saw carts doing laps around greens parking on fringe. Very backed up, 3 groups per hole. Left at the 12th hole (4 hours) and won't be returning.
The course is in rough shape
The greens were bumpy and none of the sand traps were raked. I was very disappointed with the conditions overall it was like they are just doing the bare minimum to keep the course open
Slow pace
For early spring the course was in decent shape, only problem like most courses in the area they overbooked tee times. The first 9 took over 3 hours to play. That’s ridiculous. pace was a bit better on the second 9 but still almost 6 hours to play 18 was a bit much.
