Played this course a few times over the years. The greens are nice and roll true. Fun playable layout.

This is a great course a little out of the way. Everything was great, except people on the front nine don't seem to know that you have to fix your ball mark on the green. The back nine was much better. They have had a lot of rain so the rough was very thick. Hit the fairway and you were fine, off and you had trouble.

Very friendly staff, would definitely play here again, 18 holes in just over 3 hrs.

Other than the rough being a little long for me, and very soft conditions, I was pleased with the course. The back 9 is very much northern Michigan style.

First time playing Emerald Vale. Took my father in law on a Saturday morning after finding an online deal. We drove 45 minutes and were both surprisingly impressed with the course and layout. I grew up on a Bruce Matthews designed course so figured we'd check it out.

Generous fairways cut through woods made the course very playable with a beautiful outline. Holes were shaped and manicured. The chance for some elevation changes definitely gave the day a northern feel.

The course condition was good and the greens rolled pretty good with plenty of undulation and challenge for any skill player.

Very impressed and will travel to play it again... Great day at Emerald Vale :)

First time playing; excellent course; great layout. Little soggy in some areas due to a lot of recent rain. Pro shop attendant very helpful and considerate. Definitely will play this course again

Emerald Vale is a surprise course with very good fairways, excellent greens and outstanding staff. Had the best round of a very young season in Michigan. Highly recommend the course

I have played this course many times and have always had a great time. The course was in excellent shape and they are doing more work to make it even better. The greens were in great shape and fast fast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all loved it.

Great value for the money

The course is in very good shape. Front nine is open with good variety of holes. Back nine is a little tighter with a few longer holes. Large greens played around 9 or 10 on the stimp. Very enjoyable.

This is a nice moderate course to play. Knowing the layout is a definite advantage on both club selection and side of the fairway to play.

I like this course in any season, but the autumn is exceptional.

For starters, this course is just so much fun to play, it makes you hit several different types of shots depending on the hole. The greens, fairways, and first cut are all perfectly manicured. The course has a great layout and has several imaginative holes. Emerald Vale also has an old world ambiance that truly provides an escape for the normal daily grind. It also has to be conveyed that this is definitely the best value in northern MI, probably in the whole state. Emerald Vale is on par with all of the big name courses in the area except for probably Arcadia Bluffs and Forest Dunes. Peak summer weekend rate is only $42! This course would be a steal at $75, I'm really not sure why it does not get more hype.
