Good for a Wednesday after work
The greens were in really good shape, but the rest of the course was extremely dry. It wasn't super packed, this time, so we were actually able to maintain a good pace of play.
Beginner Course
Course was good. Grass needs to be mowed more often. Greens were fast and in good shape. Staff was nice as always
Goldf at its most basic...
I guess this there is a need for this type of golf course, becauseit took us 5+ hours to play. But besides the rather shaggy greens, there was more dirt here than grass. The routing lacks any sort of imagination and the cart we were given had a top speed of 1.5mph. It'll be quite a while before I come back to this ranch...
Good greens
If there were real fairways to go with the greens it would be a lot better course. I understand it's in the flood plain but something needs to be done.
The course was packed
A group of 7 really slowed the pace of play. Then they let another group start on 10 as we were finishing 9.
The greens were in good shape despite not having any rain for a month. Fairways and tee boxes were in desperate need of watering. Still a good, fun course.
Pace of play
This was honestly the slowest pace of play I’ve experienced on any course I’ve ever played. There were 4-7 carts on every tee box. They continued sending groups out onto a course that was over booked. We enjoyed the layout but nobody can plan for a 5 hr 40 minute round. Another group told us it’s like that every week. Unfortunately, we’ll not return. On a positive note, the staff was very accommodating.
Never play here!!!!!
Terrible course. Management is the worst I’ve ever experienced from a golf course. They tee people off on 1 and 10 and it’s a free for all. No rules here. We had the turn and had to wait for 2 group of 4 on 10. Save your money play elsewhere. Not worth the $25. Conditions are terrible. Even if you are on the fairway you have to pray you are on grass. Only worth playing here if you have kids who don’t care. Never playing here again
Decent course
It's a decent course for the money. Tee boxes were garbage and constantly people driving through your fairway since the layout of the course is so close together. But overall it's an average course.
Eh
Course is in subpar condition. Never any grass on the tee box and the fairway grass is just short backyard grass. Lots of crab grass. Layout is actually better than I thought. Some fun holes. Good course to brings kids out to play
Overbooked
Just too many people with the same tee times. But we love the course. Forget about going on the weekends.
Great experience!
Riverside is a great couse. Fair but challenging layout. Friendly staff and course in great shape.
Good, affordable neighborhood course
Good value, can get backed up at times, but to be expected.
Busy front 9
Front 9 was quite crowded but the back 9 opened up and it was like being at a different course. Something needs to be done to the tee boxes to be able to put your tee's in the ground. i have played a lot of golf and I have never seen boxes like that. We will be back though and give it another chance.
Not bad
It’s hard to say this place is good or great. It’s a bit rough, and the greens are abused by hoosiers that don’t repair ball marks, but for the money, it’s a solid experience. Good for beginners for sure.
One of the worst courses I’ve ever played
Over my golfing career, Riverside might be one of the worst courses I’ve ever been on. The only reason I’d ever played it in the past was a “knock-the-rust-off” round to start the year for little money. But it has gone downhill even more than from the past, and now I don’t think I’ll even do that.
We chose to play there because another golfer and I were taking his girlfriend out for her second-ever full round and didn’t want to spend too much or play a difficult course. Bad decision! The cart path was in terrible shape with many holes and broken-up asphalt. The fairways were patchy with dead spots everywhere, and the grass that was there was a combo of weeds and crabgrass. There was no difference between the fairways and the rough as it all ran together and looked the same. The tee boxes were in awful shape and most of the sand traps were completely bare.
The one semi-positive thing I will say is that the greens were in OK shape but they were wrecked with TONS of ball marks, spike marks and foot prints. I hate to say it about any course, but I really cannot see myself paying money to play there ever again.
Perfect for Beginners
I'm a mid skilled golfer taking a friend out for his first time on a full par 4 course (vs an executive par 3). Fairways weren't differentiable from the rough with everything being crabgrass and at the same cut, but everything seemed well-maintained. Pace of play was unhurried, I can see where at peak times unhurried could turn to painfully slow however.
All in all, it was exactly what I was looking for to make that first jump to a full course. Will be back here with my beginner friend again but would not recommend for more seasoned golfers.
