Lots for the price of admission, but...
Shiloh has always been a first rate course, but at a cost.
Great Life has made playing here it very affordable, but that comes at a cost.
Greens were in great shape. Fairways could have been a little better defined and there was more crabgrass than I expected (but I have noticed that is a trend at Great Life courses).
Still a great time for our dollar!
Played at 9am. Ranger let a 2some off in front of us. An 8 year old girl and her dad. I proceeded to watch him allow her to hit all 15 shots to the green. I ask the ranger sitting on the first tee if I’m going to have to watch this for 7 hours today. His response was “they payed their money too and they are only playing 9. 4 hours later, we finish our front 9. Layout is horrible, tee boxes are atrocious, but the greens are pretty nice. I was fed up so I left after the 11th hole to find that a golf ball had smashed the windshield of my brand new truck. Needless to say, there was no note, and management couldn’t have cared less. I play more than 100 rounds a year never again will I spend another second on this goat ranch of a course.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
We had a tee time for 5:25. Tried to go off back 9 because it was packed, but got moved to front 9 because apparently it was ladies night. Didn’t get to tee off until 6:15. There was seven groups piled up on hole 1. Took two hours to play four holes. Tee boxes were in poor condition, some were soaked. Overall awful experience. Save your time and golf some place else :)
Great Course
Phenomenal course, but the driving range is very underwhelming.
Ehhh. Decent for the money.
Okay, so I play this course quite a bit. The only reason being its proximity to my home, and that it's relatively inexpensive. This course isn't great. The greens are in really good condition, albeit a bit shaggy at times. Some of the greens are large and have massive slopes. Putting can be very challenging here. The fairways are in decent condition. There are a few holes where the summer heat has really cooked the grass. Overall, not terrible fairways. The tee boxes, however...not good. Lots of them are a bit muddy or uneven and one of them is almost completely sand. There are tons of trees so parts of the course can be really tight and difficult. However, it's decent for the cost. Now on to the staff. They truly seem friendly. I"ve never had an issue with anyone's attitude. However, they sometimes don't tell you things that are useful to know. I booked a tee time on a Wednesday afternoon through GolfNow and showed up to the course and they said nothing to me. Turns out, the entire back nine was closed for some sort of women's league. I didn't know, and wouldn't have played the course if I knew that. (I like the back nine better) Anyways if you can get a round here for like $30, go for it. If you're paying $45 or more....maybe find another course.
It was hot so not many playing. One to a cart so social distanting was easy
The price I payed thru golf now was five dollars more than the price at the course and it was a hot deal,I don’t see why I should continue to book on golf now
A bit expensive for the amenities
First, the cart broke down after about 3 holes. The cart paths need a lot of work. The greens are in very good shape.
Shiloh Springs.
I’m new to the area and have been looking for a course that I can play and call “my course”. I have found it here. The staff is very friendly, the course is a lot of fun to play and the members were really helpful in getting me familiar with the course design. The green fee’s are competitor and the condition of the course was wonderful. I’m glad to refer any golfer looking for their “home course”.
Shocked
I’ve never played a course with shag carpet greens, it was like putting on the fringe. Fairways were decimated, blind second shots and tee shots, bugs galore, cart paths busted concrete every other hole...
Not worth the money.
Course is very very congested. Players from all over driving on your hole. Marshall’s starting groups on front and back with no organization. Be prepared to hear FORE a lot! Keep your head on a swivel when you play here. Oh ya, my cart wouldn’t work properly, had to pump the gas peda numerous times to get going. Eventually called the clubhouse to get a different cart in order to finish the round.
You are an idiot. The tee boxes are soaked because they laid new sod. You have to soak it to keep it alive. If you’re too dumb to realize that play elsewhere.
