Heritage Glen Golf Club

About
Heritage Glen Golf Club in Paw Paw is definitely a contender for most scenic golf course in Michigan. The rolling hills and valleys of the state's "wine country" provide the setting for the course. The layout has an interesting mix of holes with some that have a Scottish-links style while others are so lined with trees that it feels like you're in the North woods. Overall, it's a player-friendly golf course but there are some challenging par 5s and you'll definitely get a chance to work on your iron game. Heritage Glen's sixth hole might turn out to be one of the hardest par 5s you'll ever play. It stretches to 625 yards from the back tees with a marsh to the left and a bunker surrounding the green. Bogie is considered a good score on this tough hole.

Pace was terrible
This course I have played many times with no problem. Brought some friends from out of state. A group of ladies, 80, played an event and were SOOOOO SLOW at one point there were six (6) groups waiting on hole #6 to tee off. It took over three and a half hours for the first none holes. The course overbooked badly only to make a buck and totally ruined our experience. Perfect weather and perfect course made no difference. I was amazed at the lack of consideration to not tell us prior.
Favorite
This course is one of my favorites in Michigan. It’s always a treat to score a good hot deal from Golf Now. The course is a bit more expensive than what I usually pay but worth every penny. It’s always in great condition.
Too slow of play.
Frost today and we started later, as we expected. We called ahead and were told 30 minutes so we arrived accordingly. Hit some balls on the range til our tee time. We were told it was backed up on the 3rd or 4th hole. That was an understatement. We waited on every tee box with 2 other groups. On the 6th tee, we had 5 groups waiting to tee off, and another group gave up and left. Front 9 took 3 hours. We did not see a ranger all day. Then, after we finished our 5 hour round, the building was locked up and no access to restrooms at 7:20.
DOES NOT FEEL LIKE S.W. MICHIGAN
This course has a feel unlike most others in the area.
The placement of bunkers, tall rough, tree lined fairways make it appealing to the eye.
With that being said. This course does play short. There are a lot of big unrepaired divots throughout. Along with pitch marks on the greens.
This is the second time I played this course. I plan on returning. I will recommend it to others. I just wish the golfers and employees took time to care for this wonderful course.
Great course
Nothing special on the service side. Just the usual check in and hit the tee box. Very well taken care of even after the large amounts of rain in the morning. Fun course to play. Some holes are pretty difficult with the dog legs and shots over water and/or thick brush. It was a relaxing round at a great course. Will come back again!
Super day
Barbie and I had a great day of golf on a beautiful golf course. It started out with some slow play but we teamed up with 2 young men that was very enjoyable to play with. Had a fun day. Would recommend this course.
Nice track in great shape
Great layout and in great shape. Pace of play was slow.we had a foursome ahead of us that really backed up the course. Turned into. 5 hour round. Wish there would have been a ranger out there to keep things moving along.
Hidden Gem
My favorite course in Michigan all things considered. A beautifully maintained course that is fair but challenging.
Kalamazoo Area Gem
Favorite course in Kalamazoo. It has never disappointed. Always in great condition from the tee box to the green.
The greens were true and fair. Heritage features two of the hardest par 5’s around in #6 and #8. Every hole is unique and challenging in its own right.
Definitely feels like a northern Michigan course as you are in the woods for the majority. Very few holes are open to each other so you have the nice feeling of seclusion.
I would recommend it to anyone. I had my first Hole in One on #7 last year!
Kalamazoo Area Gem
This is my favorite course in the Kalamazoo area. Always in great shape from the tee box to the green. Greens are true and fair.
Each hole is unique and the course features two of the hardest par 5’s around (#6 and #8). All but one or two holes are secluded from each other.
Feels like an Up North course with the scenery. Would recommend this course to anyone and already do. Doesn’t hurt that I scored my first Hole in One on #7 last year.
Great track
Fun golf course with plenty of opportunities for birdies and pars, and plenty of holes that are super challenging. There are easily 3 snowman holes.
Course was in fantastic shape, greens were perfect, rolled true and not overly fast.
It’s great course and the back is easily 2-4 stokes harder.
I wish pace of play was better, we ended up pairing up with another twosome and we still had 5-8 minute waits on tee boxes and approach shots into green,
Tough but fair challenge. Wish there would have been a ranger to speed up play after 15 holes the guys we had joined were frustrated and just quit the last 3 holes,
