2023 was rough, under new ownership this course is back to beautiful. Don’t hesitate to play!!!

Stopped at this course on our way north. Didn’t expect much because of old low reviews and reasonable fees. We were pleasantly surprised how great the course is and clubhouse menu with great patio view. The new management put a lot into this course, I highly recommend.

I was looking for a course near I-75 logistically because I was meeting two other people. To my pleasant surprise, Black Bear was both challenging and beautiful!

Pace of play was terrible.took our twosome over 3 hours for 9 holes.

Way over booked foursomes on nearly every hole so after 9 holes gave up and left.

Staff were good and because booked through golfnow they couldn't give us rain check or refund.

It has been years since I golfed the Black Bear and the new ownership is really making a difference. The conditions are very nice and the greens really well done. Is is a great value in the Gaylord Mecca to get out and not break the bank. I have gone 4 times so far this summer and every time you see the owner himself or the workers hard at work replacing sprinkler heads and upgrading the grounds. Highly reccomend.

Course conditions had diminished over the past several years, but new owners have really done a nice job of bringing it back to life.

Hadn’t played this course in several years, but heard conditions were improving. Course was in good shape. Love the scenic layout. Very playable, but still challenging. Greens were in good shape but slow enough that it was a challenge to get the ball to the hole. Fun day, great price.

We had a great time playing this course! It was well maintained and the staff was attentive. We'd definately go back again!

Under new ownership the course is mowed and maintained much better, greens are looking and rolling much more true, the restaurant is back open and the food is great, couldn’t ask for much more! Glad to see the course getting revitalized

Glad to see the course conditions have improved. One of our local favorites to play and a good value for the money. The food was really good. Give the course another try and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

New ownership has really tuned this course around! Still work to do but trending in a very positive direction.

Spoke with the new owner, he has a great sense of where to take the course. Have always loved the layout of the course but conditions were not good in the past. They have really turned it around! Will be playing there again.
