Course Improving
Pembroke GC is going through major redesign on its back nine layout that looks outstanding. Front nine and back nine are totally different layouts that make for an interesting round. Wide open on the front but tight on the back with undulating greens. Well worth playing a round or two
here!
Great improvement
The last time I had played this course was under the old ownership...what a change and difference in fairways, greens, people and amenities! Great round of golf at a fair price and the pace of play was good! Thinking of joining if i can get the deal in August or September...
Looks To Be On The Way Up
I had a great golfnow.com rate of $24 for 18 holes with a cart on a rainy Wednesday. Most of the mid-day golfers either cancelled or noshowed, so I had a wide open course for most of the day. It was wet and the grounds crew looked to be off except for one guy on a rough mower. I found the layout challenging from the back tees. The grass was a little high and the rough was thick, so there was very little bounce. The greens held very well and putted a little slowly. There are great elevation changes and hazards that make you think about your strategy. On the back nine things were a bit funky and I could surmise from all of the construction that they were going to fix existing holes or build some new holes. The 18th hole is the worst finishing hole I have ever seen. Its about 260 over a giant ravine to a thin green that is carved into the hillside. I pounded a driver and made it into the rough by 10 feet. I then hit a wedge that came up short and 3 putted on the curvy corner of the green. I am told this hole will be gone in 2017. Thank God! I think the course has great potential and the owners are going to get it right eventually. The clubhouse is a throwback that is friendly but in need of many updates. I would play this course again if I was near Manchester.
Welcome Back.
I was a member for 10 years up until 2005. The course was the laughing stock of the state. I left due to poor conditions and management. The greens were always slow and grainy and the fairways were usually bare in spots. I've played multiple times after the new owners took over and I saw minor improvements. They are in the process of building a new 18th hole. Yesterday were the best conditions I've experienced since i first played here in 1995. The fairways were tight and filled in and the greens ran true and fast. When you play here next year you will be surprised and impressed.
Good coruse
We spend a good time at the course, it's not specially challenging but it is not all straight, so it requieres kind of precision.
There's a food cart that we saw 4 times and the staff is really friendly.
Fun Course
I really like playing at Pembroke Pines.... i do have to say i like the front 9 a lot more than the back... i heard they are changing some of the back nine holes.. i look forward to this next year....they have kept the course looking good.. even with the lack of rain....
Hi Bret,
Thank you for your review and feedback! We can't wait to have you back!

Not bad (but not quite good)
While it's tough to beat the price, the course was in kind of rough shape. It starts with the driving range which is nothing short of bizzare. Aside from having precious little turf to hit from (mostly dirt) - it borders the 9th fairway and errant approach shots right of the green make for an exciting warm-up experience if you're not alert. This is downright dangerous and really should be addressed. The course itself has some interesting holes, however it had lots of bare spots once off the fairway. They had recently punched and sanded the greens (which was disclosed up front on the GolfNow app) so I can't comment on quality of the greens under normal conditions. The front and back 9's play like totally different courses. They are doing some serious earth moving on the 10th hole so there is a temporary tee box and the hole really plays almost like a very long par 3. Pace of play was fair (you can't expect to set speed records on a weekend on a semi-private course) but it would have been nice to see a ranger once or twice to help keep things moving.
This could be a nice track if they addressed a few basic issues, but for now I'd take a pass.
Thank you for your review. We're glad the price was good, and we appreciate your feedback as we continuously strive to improve our conditions.
If there is anything else we could do to help improve your chances of coming back, please let us know at pembrokepinescc@gmail.com.
Nice Renovations
Played front nine, open with a nice mix of long and short holes. Many new tee boxes, some in use some being readied. Friendly staff, but no starter some some golfers were jumping around the course, so the pace of play was impacted by their rudeness. Nice clubhouse where we enjoyed a cold one after our game. A note of caution when playing the ninth hole as the fairway and the driving range are not well separated. Many errant balls were on the fairway making finding yours a chore, and potentially dangerous.
Would go again it will be getting much better as its obvious they are attempting to improve the course condition.
Thank you for your review and noticing the improvements we've been making! We hope to see you at the course again soon!
Very disappointed, over priced for condition of course
I played with a friend of mine who is a member. The back 9 was pretty much unplayable due to construction and condition of course. Certainly not a $50.00 course. So many other options in southern NH, I will not be returning.
Pace
The slowest 18 hole round I have ever played (5.5 hours). Always a 10 minute wait at tees and at times 3 groups deep with 20 minute wait. UGH!
Its under constuction
My only issue is no ranger and people just pop in front of you. Ex. 10th hole people went in front of us?
Old and New changes coming
Traditional front nine very walkable on a hot day followed by riding the "new" style back nine which would have been a challenge to walk. Back nine renovations underway with plans to change the 18th hole which is a horrible hole especially to finish on. Once 18 is changed it should be a lot better. Would play again as it is close to my house. I played midweek so pace of play was good.
P Pines
Course was well maintained compared to most suffering from lack of rain, they are making changes for the better and are doing alot of work to better the facility.
Tale of Two Nines
For anyone who has played Pembroke Pines before, you know it is truly the tale of two nines. Front is on an old cow pasture so it plays wide open, and the back is cut through dense forest, so accuracy is key. Front is very straightforward, and has some good scoring opportunities. Back is very quirky (sometimes to the point of being ridiculous/unfair), so it certainly keeps you on your toes. The course will make you hit every club in your bag, and with some great tee time deals, it makes the place a great value. Easy to get to, playable for all levels, but tends to get backed up, even on weekdays. Certainly a Concord-area course to try.
Tale of Two Golf Nines
The front nine is very forgiving and open, and the back nine is a completely different course with tighter holes, interesting design, and massive undulating greens. Course has had some improvements since new ownership took over and our foursome got a fantastic deal to play in the middle of the day in the middle of the week in very hot temperatures. Some tee boxes have been improved, pro shop was small but adequate. Pro or Assistant Pro was business-like but not overly friendly. Had beer and appetizers after golf. Beer was in pitchers and was warm. Waitress was very nice and not sure what she could do about a warm keg, so we drank it anyway. Appetizers were good. A few of the greens had damage to them, and the 18th green had some major damage to it. Our match came down to the last hole and the two guys that were still in it had to move their balls to another part of the green in order not to putt over the damage. On the 10th tee there is major construction going on. I was told they are building condos or apartments around the tee, so they have a temporary tee which shortens the hole considerably. I hit driver from the white tees and it was too much club. All in all, a fair test at an excellent price, but don't expect anything special just yet. Maybe when improvements are done it will be better.
I Shall Return
Douglas Mc Arthur said that long ago and he did return and so will I to Pembroke Pines CC. It's listed as Plausawa Valley CC by Golf Now but that's the old name, same great course. Hurt my right thumb last Christmas so this was my first round of 2016. Off and on rain hampered the round but overall it was a great fun round. As others have commented, two very different nines. Front more wide open with less contour to the greens. However I didn't play enough break on the front so they're not flat and straight. The back nine is tighter through the woods with much more undulation to the very nice putting greens. Very nice golf course that I will play again and recommend to anyone. Doing work on # 10 and was told they will make a new finishing hole soon.
Bang for your buck.
Beautiful coarse. Well maintained. Excellent value. How can you beat $30 with a cart anytime?
Great value - decent enough greens
Great course for the money !!! Couldn't possibly complain !! Back nines much nicer than from nine !!!! The course maybe has the most dangerous driving range I have ever seen, hitting at you as your coming down the par 5 9th . Very messed up
Progressing
They are making some good renovations. Greens are improving. Will be back.
Good, soon to be great
First time here, an hour drive with morning traffic . I was not disappointed. Still working on the backside, you can tell this will be a great one.
Thank you for your review and hope to see you back again soon!
