Green Knoll Golf Course
About
Green Knoll Golf Course in Bridgewater Township has a varied terrain that provides a unique character to the course. The course sprawls across gently rolling hills dappled with mature trees. Much of the course's challenges are a result of the tricky contours. Some of the elevation changes are dramatic but there are also some subtle ones, which can be just as tricky. Further accuracy is required to maneuver the tight fairways. There are definitely challenges in store throughout but overall the golf course's playability appeals to all skill levels, from novices to avid golfers. It measures a manageable 6,443 yards from the back tees. In addition to the 18-hole course, there is also a nine-hole pitch-and-putt course. Green Knoll is one of five golf courses operated by the Somerset County Park Commission.

The Knoll
Green Knoll is one of the handful of somerset county courses that I enjoy playing over and over. For fall golf they had solid conditions making the value even better.
Long OverDue
This was the 1st, I played Green Knoll in about 25 yrs. The course was in great shape. Pace of play was excellent no waiting after the first 2 holes.
The value on Golf Now was very good, being a Golf Pass member also gave me a better rate $39.50. Exceptional.
Definitely worth playing.
Back nine first is way to go !
Due to one of our foursome moving an hour north, we have decided to accommodate him by playing on more centrally located courses. This spurred us to take a run at the eastern Somerset county courses. We have already played (and reviewed) Warren Brook, Quail Brook, and Spooky Brook. All are recommended as great venues for a quality round. Green Knoll is no exception. An interesting hillside course (not as severe as Warren Brook) in great shape and a pleasure to play. (The greens showed signs of recent aeration but rolled very true. Although they are not as fast as Quail Brook). The first thing we found out upon arriving, was that we were starting on the tenth hole and playing the back nine first then finishing on the front. Normally I find this disconcerting. Interested in golf course design , I always assume that the routing of a course is intentional and that the architect was purposeful with his set up. However, at Green Knoll (I feel) this makes perfect sense. So much so they should consider re-numbering the holes and make this permanent. The back nine starts off relatively benign and does start to get more challenging as you progress With a few interesting holes. Blind tee shot up and over a hilly fairway, a par three with an elevated Tee-box, a long flat par four with the second (or third) shot over a natural area to an elevated green. The course does get more difficult as you proceed and this trend does continue into the front nine (when played as the back) culminating with two great finishing holes. The penultimate (which, in my opinion, should always be the hardest/most interesting on the course) a forced carry over a waste area/creek. The creek then bends around and separates the fairway from the green which puts playing the proper distances at a premium. The last is a longish uphill par four to a well protected green. If the length of this review (my longest by far) is any indication, you get the idea that Green Knoll is a great place for a fun and challenging round of golf. I do look forward to another trip back in the near future.
No Aeration alert listed
Went out yesterday and nowhere did they display an aeration alert on golf now like other courses do , would’ve went elsewhere if I knew. Okay course decent shape overall … tee boxes weren’t cut / or were lopsided.
Punched greens!
Greens were punched and sanded. Unfortunately they were very bumpy this time making putting on them super difficult. I’ve been on courses that use more sand which although makes putts slower there’s a least a little bit more consistency.
Regardless the rest of the course was in awesome condition! Page of play was a little over 5 hours.
As a joke
I would not recommend to play this Track.
Especially you Knuckle heads. so not to expose this hidden Gem.
Haha
Go plat it!
And replace your Divots/ Pitch-marks and stop littering!
Fun course
Nothing bad to say. Pace of play was good in the morning. Tee to green for each hole was maintained properly. Would come back again in the future.
No water
Enjoyed playing but there was NO water available on the course, so you had to wait until the turn and then pay $3.75 for a drink from the vending machine
GOOD COURSE BUT
Good course but Cart fees are ridiculous. No 19th hole so food options are limited.
Like to Play Here
I got paired up with 2 Asian women, who held their own from the front tees. Pace of play was excellent, slowed down after the turn when we caught up to a slower foursome. The greens were in great shape, best I've played on this season. It was a perfect weather day, had a good time.
