Cream ridge
Loved playing today. I was surprised that it was a dry as it was given all the rain we have had. Greens in good sharpen it a few tee boxes needed some work.
Great course
Love when you start and end on a par 5
Nice long course would definitely recommend
In great shape
Haven’t played here in 2 years. Back then course was hurting. Played today and was impressed by the improvements to it. Course is in great shape! I will be playing here more often! Thanks!
Pace of Play main issue
Our tee time was 6:57am. There were two groups ahead of us with an entire hole between the first two groups. The round took over 4 hours when early morning, weekday tee times almost never take that long. Very frustrating. The course has some neat holes, but the pace of play made enjoying the round impossible.
A Sentimental Favorite!
Cream Ridge is the course I played as a teenager taking up the game over 50 years ago. I always enjoy playing this course although those opportunities are infrequent since I live in VA.. Back in the days of my youth, the course was not that far removed from the proverbial cow pasture. Not so today. The greens are in excellent condition! The fairways are very good and the tee boxes good. A fun layout. We ate after our round and the food was excellent as well. Friendly staff.
Review @ Cream Ridge
Fairways and greens in very nice condition.
Ball cleaners and fresh drinking water would be a welcome addition.
Definitely adding this into the rotation.
Course was great
found the course difficult, a lot of water to hit over.
Great Day on The Course
Had a late afternoon tee time, was able to get out early and finish 18. Pace of play this time was fantastic, greens in great shape; an overall good experience...
Solid improvements
It’s been a few years since my last visit. Greens are in good shape, as are fairways. There’s some rough spots, but not anywhere where you should be playing from anyway. Tee boxes could be leveled better. Overall a place I’d come back to sooner than last time. Good work fixing it up.
Good, could be better
First time playing Cream Ridge as I met a friend halfway.
Mostly positive impressions for this rural public course. For being tree-lined, the fairways and flight lines were unobstructive and you really had to hit a bad shot to be out of positon. Lots of water hazard but very few munkers, and most holes are straight away.
Nonetheless, the course conditions were good. Greens were on the slow side but consistent and you got true rolls. Green all around, particularly aprons, were higher than typical but you just had to adapt.
The course only had 150 markers which made it hard to gauge distance on shorter shots, and their supposed GPS apps I couldn't find to download. They also didn't have distance tags on the tees, which made judging par-3 distances very tough. My playing partner went by hte scorecard and hit an 8-iron 20 yards over the back of the green. And all the flags are the same color so the only way you could judge front/middle/back was by a tag on the stick, which wasn't much help from 150 yards or even 100 away. So, yes, the course needs a lot more and better distance measures. (And none on sprinkler heads out there, either.)
The cart paths also need a lot of work and often end just 50 yards from the tee boxes. That's probably better because riding the rough was about 25% smoother than on most paths.
But my main complaint were only three tee boxes. We both prefer to play the gold tees because we aren't big hitters, but all gold were even with the red, which made the course play too short, even for us. But the white would be way too far to make it a fun round. There appeared to be room on most holes for a gold tee box, if they would bite the bullet and put them in.
Still, it's a fun course to play and we agreed that we would eager play it again. We also stayed for dinner and the food was terrific and a good value. And as it was a perfect day, we'll have fond memories of this course.
Greens were good
