Old Orchard Country Club
About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2025.
Opened in 1929, Old Orchard Country Club has a classic design with challenges that stand up to modern golf courses. Throughout the course, you'll see traces of the site's former use as a farm. Ancient apple trees from the original orchard frame many of the holes. The diverse layout will test you with a variety of different shots but the gently rolling terrain makes for an easy walk. Skill and strategy will be generously rewarded but it's not an overly punishing layout for the high handicapper. Old Orchard's greens play true and fast and they are often flanked with strategically positioned bunkers. A stream wanders through the golf course, coming into play on several holes. Golfers will face a tricky island green on the par-5 seventh hole as well as an almost-island green on the par-4 13th.

Driver friendly. Putting greens will be your enemy
Played here in November 2020. Also played here June 2019. Both times course conditions were on the below average side. Especially the greens. We can all appreciate course maintenance. This place needs more of it. Pace of play was ok. Staff was very friendly
End of season
Course was in much better condition two weeks ago. Must be end of season nothing done since then . Fairways were not cut and leaves everywhere. Back nine greens in terrible shape. $30 to walk the course and finished in under 4 hours.
Needs more upkeep
The course layout is good but they need to buy a leaf blower and they need to better maintain the tee boxes
GolfNow Hot Deal at Old Orchard
Course condition has improved since last played a year ago, but still needs to go some. Played the day after very heavy rain so some areas still wet. They allowed carts out with 90 degrees across fairway. Very few people out.
Staff was very nice.
Greens have improved some, but some greens still sparse neat the edges. Tees had grass, but bumpy. Fairways imroved since 2019. Round was Nov so grass was thinning.
Worth playing when not crowded as deing is Tillinghast with some intersting holes, island green, 7th
Solid budget option
Course was in very fair condition, some fun holes. Leaves in November were a challenge but if you keep it in the fairway not a problem!
Good value
If you’re looking to get a round in and not break the bank this is the place.
Great price and fast play
The course is in fair shape but the price is terrific and pace great 18 holes in 31/2 hrs all in all great value. The staff is super friendly making it a good day out on the links.
This course needs help
I’ve played this course on numerous occasions and found it to be a pleasant round. This time was very different. It seems the course has been let go for a long time. T boxes were nonexistent, greens were horrible, and no one from the staff was available to speed play along on a extremely slow round. A total waste of money
Much improved
All fairways were mowed and cleaned. Areas around greens were cleaned of leaves etc. The front nine greens look to be new very good shape. The back nine greens still need work but were playable. Sand traps and rough needs work but figure it’s my bad if I’m not on the fairway.
$26 to walk the course finished in about 3.5 hours.
Old orchard
I had never played this course before and was very surprised with the conditions at a private course that has been around for a long time. Greens were in bad shape, putts bouncing and redirecting. Sand traps filled with water even a metal pipe sticking out of one impeding my stance (i know, I shouldn't have hit into it) overall disappointed.
