Old Orchard Country Club

About
Opened in 1929, Old Orchard Country Club has a classic design with challenges that stand up to modern golf courses. Throughout the course, you'll see traces of the site's former use as a farm. Ancient apple trees from the original orchard frame many of the holes. The diverse layout will test you with a variety of different shots but the gently rolling terrain makes for an easy walk. Skill and strategy will be generously rewarded but it's not an overly punishing layout for the high handicapper. Old Orchard's greens play true and fast and they are often flanked with strategically positioned bunkers. A stream wanders through the golf course, coming into play on several holes. Golfers will face a tricky island green on the par-5 seventh hole as well as an almost-island green on the par-4 13th.

Worst golf course EVER!!!
I called the course after reading the reviews. Told me the golf course in good condition. The reviews were fake. Fairways LOSING balls grass not cut. Miss fairways good luck finding you ball. Sand trap and greens total NIGHTMARE mess. Save your money DONT PLAY HERE!!
Closing down
Seems like it’s already closed down. The fairways and tee boxes are rough and the greens are fairways with divots. If it was $15 I’d maybe play here.
Worst course Ive ever played!
They are trying to sell the course for redevelopment so they don't care about up keep at all. I've honestly have never seen a course in worse condition.
Worst course I I’ve ever played
Every fairway was horrible.. over grown grass and weeds. Every green looked like someone chewed on them. Pathetic course and they charged me $60. Even the golf cart sucked. Had an alignment problem with no brakes. Hands down the worst course I’ve ever played. They should be embarrassed and refund my money
WORST COURSE EVER
This course has absolutely NO maintenance. The condition of the tee boxes, fairways, sand traps and greens could not have been any worse. I am pretty sure they have sold their lawn mowers and removed any kind of sprinkler system and most definitely do not have weed control. Each and every sand trap had dirt and rocks, not one grain of sand in them. Balls were lost in the fairways because the grass is so high and it is overcome with weeds. The staff in the pro shop was extremely rude and belligerent. This could be because anyone who pays to play here complains when done, and rightfully so. It is robbery. If you decide to play and waste your money at this course bring plenty of tees and balls as you will need them. It is crystal clear the owner of the course does not care at all about it, or the players who come. They just care about collecting money.
DO NOT PLAY HERE
Grass literally hasn’t been cut in years. Apparently the course has been bought by developers and this is the last summer open so the bad conditions make sense, but for $50-60 a round it’s like they are trying to scam people. Tee boxes and fairways looked like the rough of actual courses, greens were incredibly bumpy and slow. Saw about 4 maintenance guys in total, all raking the same bunker. Employees were super nice though.
Wow! Bad!
The fairways are like playing in the ruff! Lost balls and all!
18 inch high grass two feet from the green. Green? I was being nice….. dirt, weeds, fungus, pot holes…..!! Just awful!
No amenities at all! An outhouse next to a closed snack stand.
Can’t tell the tee box from the fairway!!!
Just terrible…… !!!!!
Worst course in Jersey
Stay away from this course. Sadly the Fairways and greens are longer than your backyard grass. I feel bad because the layout was nice. It can be better if management takes the effort to maintain it properly.
You can do Better!
I hate bein honest, because being honest can be hard. I lost Four balls on the fairway because the grass was so thick and not manicured. The tee boxes needed TLC. I couldn't wash my balls because there was no water in the ball cleaners. Course layout was good, but the conditions of the course took away from the experience.
Amazing hotdogs
Day started off beautiful until we got our golf carts and our hungover friend grab the cart with the roof that was broken and flapping up and down as he was driving, we kindly directed him to get a replacement from the first tee. After that we felt like we were the prisoners of Azkaban as Every time we stripped a pro v down the center they received the expelliarmus! Poof gone never to be found again hidden in the dandelions and 6” tall fairway grass.. the rough was roughly than the gorilla exhibit at a zoo, pretty much your balls a goner there also. But what was a first was when we were on the second par 3 of the day and it looked as if the green was receiving construction by the bridges and tunnels contractors as it was all barricaded ded leaving you with a nice 10 foot of puttable surface which was more like the belt parkway on very green. Might Aswell chip the balls on the green may have a better shot at getting it in the hole. One positive take away was the 24” hotdogs on a basically footling Italian bread best dog I’ve had in a which not for nothing. I’d say that would be might greatest take away from todays round of golf. Pace of play was ok, you just get slowed down from trying to find your balls in the center of the fairway, or perhaps when there’s a sevensome infront if you with 3 carts and two walkers running to catch up to their buddies with the golf carts. I mean the course is good to take your kids to practice or to teach them how to drive a golf cart.
Painful
Excellent course if you like picking dandelions, amazing course if you like loosing your balls down the center of the fairway, I felt like the prisoner of Azkaban as if Voldemort expelliarmused my neon orange gold balls after stripping them down the fairway ( or shall we say the rough). One positive thing was the 3 foot hotdogs were not bad but what else was amazing was the par 3 with the most beautiful hazard on the green which took up approximately 75% of the green and then once you clear that you had a wonderful out on the pothole driven beltparkway of a green. I had to throw out my golf ball after that hole because it dented after my putt… the funniest thing was getting into the golf cart and watching my buddy try to out his clubs in the cart that had the roof hanging off , unfortunately we had to tell him because his hangover had the best of him to notice but we politely told him to swap his cart so he doesn’t need a neck brace after driving it around few holes. I’d highly recommend the course if you are looking to just help the grounds and attach a mower to the back of your cart and spreed some weed killer and possiblyyyyy fix the bridges that you almost fall through when walking to your tee box because the planks are from the caddy shack era
