One of many scenic holes at Spring Meadow Photo submitted by Cory3302115 on 06/23/2014
Don’t waste you’re time/money
Course is in horrible shape, half the tee boxes don’t have grass and you’re hitting off dirt. No one fixes any of their divots. They don’t have cart girl or a bar or anything to eat. $70 is an absolute rip off, It should be a $30 round of golf at the max.
Extremely Disappointing
I live reasonably close by…. Play here at least 1x a year. Conditions are TERRIBLE.. bar/restaurant CLOSED… no warning. Sad…. Course has incredible potential… but the STATE IF NJ is to blame. State land.. too much bs involved
This place has gone down hill
Spring meadow used to be one of my favorite local courses. Offering a fun mix of holes, elevations, fairways. Conditions were always on fairer end. Nothing to write home about but still solid golf.
This was my first time playing in about a year. Its a dump. Tee boxes are chewed up, fairways feature dead grass up and down all 18 holes, trash all over the place, greens are chewed and marked by people not fixing divots and lack or maintenance. Out house bathroom smelled like it hadn't been clean all summer. Since the last time I played they upped the price by $10. Nearly $20 price increase over the last 3 seasons. Unfortunately I'm retiring this course from my muni rotation.
Spring Meadow Other
Bathroom needs to be fixed, stinks and it's been that way for a long time. I'm sure if you promise a plumber a few rounds of golf you can get the job done. The snack bar along the course is no longer open nor is the 19th hole. Go to Mulligans in Farmingdale for something to drink and eat after your round. Its about seven miles away.
Dont
The course itself is challenging, which is good. But there’s absolutely no food service anywhere on the golf course. We were paired up with another two people who blasted music out of a speaker the entire time we played. The Rangers didn’t do or say anything, and I know that the two of us and other parties were very frustrated about it.
We had a 230 tee time. By 6 o’clock we were on hole 12. We decided to leave having only played 11 and we’re almost hit by half a dozen balls because the place was so crowded.
Upgrade and renewal
Time for the State of New Jersey to step up and make this a premier state golf course to bring back its splendor. The Tee Bixes need repairing and the bathroom facilities need to be condemned.
Also the bidding process for repair of the club house and the other facilities are taking too long - time to react much quicker.
Mr Bru Bru
Unfortunately this course is up for bid. The state wants to lease it. No ball washers or signs on the holes. No sand in the traps tee boxes in bad shape.fairways loaded with weeds. Greens were consistent but ball marks all over from lazy people. Great layout I hope whoever leases it gets is back in good shape. It will def need a lot of TLC.
Course review
Nice course been playing here for many many years and always liked the layout. Every hole can test your ability.
Not worth the money
They clearly have let this course deteriorate. I've played hear many times. And was extremely disappointed today. Always never liked the car paths, which are too darn bumpy. The conditions of the fairways were dismal, crabgrass throughout. The bunkers were absolutely horrendous, filled with water and little if any sand. Definitely not worth the money. Will not be coming back here to play. Such a shame as this used to be a good course.
No food or drink options
Last time I went to this course the restaurant and the shack at the turn offered food and beverages. It is one thing to not serve alcohol but you could not get so much as a bottle of water while you were out on the course. No food available everything was completely closed and it was not advertised anywhere. It still said on the website open 11-11 during the week.
Ouch
Could be a nice layout but Marshall’s outnumbered Maintenance 6-1. And when I pay to play I expect the pins to at least stand up in the holes. A few areas to focus on could make this a gem. Friendly staff!
The course for the most part has wide fairways.
A bit pricey at $70 midday on the weekend but the course has open fairways and a nice friendly staff. A little slow play on the weekends so be prepared for long round.
