Pinch Brook Golf Course in Florham Park may be a short course, but it should not be underestimated. The layout offers all the challenges of a championship course conveniently wrapped in an executive-length course. Water hazards come into play on nearly every hole, including a pond on the seventh that is shaped like the state of New Jersey. The elevated and undulating greens putt fast and true. They present a test for even the most seasoned golfers. The par-3 holes are particularly tough. Most of them feature strategically placed bunkers fiercely guarding the double-tiered greens, that or a forced carry. The golf course is great for honing your short game skills or for squeezing in a quick but challenging round. Pinch Brook G.C. is hailed by locals as the best short course in northern New Jersey.

Fun Course
Fun little course with just enough challenges, tricky greens and really legit traps (unfortunately I found a few). Group in front 9 was very slow looking for balls on every hole, but that is to be expected on an executive course.
Pitch mark city
Good little practice course-works for when you need to work on your iron game-only big down fall is it appears nobody fixes ball marks- every green covered in pitch marks…large “older crowd” who either cant lean over to fix them, or simply do not care.
Course Rating
Course was easy to walk if you’re a walker. Pin placement were challenging. The only downside was no drinking water anywhere on course, especially on a hot 90+ degree day. There was a cart person, but who wants to spend money for water playing 18holes.
Staff-strictness-to-course-condition ratio is way off
Course ranger threatened to remove me and my playing partners from the course for fishing our ball out of an out-of-bounds area. Policy is policy, fine, but perhaps the ball would not have landed OB if there was even one blade of grass on the tee box and it wasn't purely sand and dirt. They will also push the 90-degree cart rule - perfect since there are some areas of fairways that you couldn't drive through even if you wanted to. Place is worried about the wrong things on their golf course right now.
Nice course
Yardage is moderate overall but that is a result of more par 3’s than usual. The par 3’s were pretty challenging ranging from about 150-200 yards each. Course was in nice shape and the pace of play is a little slow with so many players walking the course. But overall, the experience was good and I would play it again.
No issues with course…
But we were paired up with 2 high school freshmen who had played 18 holes only 3 times before. Made for a very slow and uncomfortable round.
Fun to play
Played a scramble with my son and had fun. Grouped up with two other gentleman that were nice and fun to play with. Easy to walk since it is a shorter length course with not much elevation change. Sand bunkers, water, and semi tough greens are the defense for the course but the bunkers were in good shape, stayed out of the water by playing smart, and the greens aren’t as tough as I thought they be. Cart girls were always circling which was nice to get drinks offered often. The hotdogs from the grill were massive and on point. Pace of play was good. Plenty of resident geese wobbling around which is better than no wildlife at all.
A few of the tee boxes were pretty beat up and one or two weren’t very level a little rounded so it messed with your stance a bit. Found myself looking for a decent place to tee my ball a few times. No chipping green to warmup on or driving range only a putting green.
It was hot out there.
Course was in excellant shape. Greens were a bit slow.
