Farmstead Golf & Country Club - Clubview/Valleyview Course
About
The Clubview nine, which opened in 1963, is the original course at the 27-hole Farmstead Golf & Country Club, located in northwest New Jersey, approximately one hour from New York City. Offering a traditional mix of par 3s, par 4s and par 5s, accuracy is key on the Byron Phoebus-designed course. The Clubview nine closes with two very demanding holes, the long par-4 eighth, with an approach shot over water, and the par-3 ninth, which is surrounded by water.

Great course
Farmstead is in beautiful shape. I'd recommend playing here anytime. From tee box to green it's fantastic!
good day of golf
greens needed divot care, fairways in good condition, rough well trimmed. course is always fun and a little different on each hole. Lots of wildlife. Little algae accumulation on corners of water holes, but generally not buggy. efficient staff and good grill and restaurant food and service.
beautifully landscaped
The only thing I can complain about is the t boxes.Needs a lot of work. Everything else was fine.
Still good!
Lake/Club is always good. Tee boxes are getting beaten up, but that’s expected in late August into September. Please get the hot dog from the halfway house. It’s the best!
Good
Course was in good condition considering it rained a lot the day before especially the greens. The starter wasn’t too friendly and I never liked the fact they don’t let you take the cart until a few minutes before tee time. Hot dog was yummy
Mismanagement
I just wanna say the starter is only staff member that was a problem rest of employees were cool. Starter sits in a cart and just barks orders at people, not very golfer friendly. To me it’s not worth the hour drive and money to play on average conditions. Slow play was annoying if we got 18 in would’ve been 5 hour round no rangers out to police pace. Played it almost 10 times, definitely last time. Good for the locals but not worth the drive, and way overpriced
Tee box and greens
If you like teeing off on a hilly patchy and uncut tee box this is the place for you. Greens patchy course layout not fun at all. Terrible drainage.
Excellent value, good course
Comparable to many much higher priced courses in the area. Lake/club was very enjoyable. Only issue is ball marks on greens not repaired. But that's on the golfers. Beautiful setting and great course conditions overall. Will be a regular
Very pleasant round
For a Saturday mid-morning round in NW Jersey, the speed of play was excellent, so it was a really pleasant round for all of our group. The course conditions were good overall. The greens could be just a bit quicker, but they were OK and coinsistent. Lake and Club 9's are always fun to play. And Farmstead still has the best hot dogs of any halfway house anywhere.
Course played well and the greens where extremely soft. Even after the storm the course was well maintained.
