Farmstead Golf & Country Club - Lakeview/Clubview Course
About
Water comes into play on six holes on the Lakeview nine at the 27-hole Farmstead Golf & Country Club, which is located in northwest New Jersey approximately an hour from New York City. None is more challenging than the closing hole, a very short -- but very intimidating -- par 3 over water. The Byron Phoebus design opened in 1965.

Golfer Reviews
Same as it ever was.
Dependable as always. Welcomed by Scott. Teed off on time. Course is in very good shape. Played in four and a half hours.
Had a great day in a picturesque setting.
Nice Day on the Links
I played on a Tuesday morning and arrived a bit early. I was greeted by the State who was quite friendly and helpful. He gave me a few options of where to start. The course was basically all mine. Tee boxes, fairways, and most greens were in decent shape for being early in the season. There were a few that were being repaired but not bad at all.
During play I lost my cell phone. The pro shop staff went out of their way to help me. At first I thought it was a loss, but about an hour or so later I got a call and was informed that one of the staff had found it. What a relief. I would definitely recommend this course and give the staff 2 thumbs up.
farmstead
good coarse good layout good condition!cons no starter!! after paying you have to wait to get a key for the cart!kid behind desk says i'll bring it out in a few minutes! why not give me The key then ??? I HAve to go to the car and get my bag and put on my shoes! so then he tells me a guy im going to play with has a cart outside and to join him! so I find the guy and I tell him im going to take the cart to my car to get my bag! he says ok but I don't have a key! finally someone gives us keys I go get my bag then I go hit some balls in the lake !I come back and the guy is gone with the other 2 guys im suppose to play with!the kid inside tells me they went off on a different nine!! unbelievable!!!!!when the girl is there carrie theres no problems! ok the small flags on the pin that tell hole locations is usually wrong if there is one on the pin to start with !either the person who cuts the hole is lazy or doesn't care I don't know!!!!!!!
Nice place, no crowds today
This place is very nice, but is usually somewhat expensive to ride and ALWAYS slow (5 hrs+).. Today, we started on the ValleyView course, which is much more challenging, but is slightly less good condition (greens, especially). The 2 of us flew thru there, then played LakeView, and were done in slightly less than 3 hrs.
Great shape
The course was in beautiful shape. Greens rolling a little slow. They are true though. I would recommend anybody into golf to play the course. A great course for a new golfer to start on. Valley 9 is a good place for that.
Excellent Golf Course
The fairways and greens were in better than fair condition for April very green and plush. Plenty of attention to details, Sand traps were excellent condition, Club House fully stocked with gear, shirts, balls etc. Bar and restaurant clean and beautiful, very old inside steeped in history. Mulch carefully installed all around the club house and restaurant area. New golf carts well cared for. Properly hosed off after each player returned the carts. Met the owner afterwards very nice chat, loves to explain the history of the Golf course. Water on the course was clean and moving nicely no geese pop. Beautiful views at almost every turn.
March 2019 Review
Friendly staff both inside and out. Preseason golf conditions existed today.(soft ground, loose divots on fairway) greens were slow but true. Round took 3 hours. Looking forward to returning soon.
Great
Golf course in great condition for early spring. It is obvious that Maitenance is being done to make course ready for play.
Nice course
Farmstead has a nice layout with several very long par 5 holes. I enjoyed playing the course and rated the course conditions a 3 only because there were a lot of leaves that have come down on the course so it made it difficult to find the ball.
Great Conditions
We love playing here. I would like to challenge a player to find other semi-private courses in our area with the conditions and the quality of greens that Farmstead is able to maintain.
Fun course to play
Farmstead is a fun course to play and the white and blue tee give you complete different challenges. This is a course for all different skill level of players to enjoy a round of golf.
Great course
Great layout. One of our favorite courses. They’ve done a great job given the incredible amount of rain this season.
