Solid Course, in good shape at the end of the year
The county is doing a very good job with this course. Usually by the end of the year the courses naturally show some wear but Darlington is in really nice shape. Greens are in good shape, overall very good.
Some very easy holes and some very challenging holes, so a good mix.

Great Course-staff is iffy
Very solid golf course, especially from the tips. Greens are beautiful especially for a county course. I played all over NJ and these greens are better than most...rest of course in good shape as well. Staff is not very friendly but hey, its a county track, what do you expect

Great Track, no amenities
Course is in good shape for a mini. Great layout. No snack shop or pro shop.

Great Layout, Unorganized Starters
I've played Darlington twice now and I'm really impressed by the layout and the course conditions. For a municipal course, this was in really solid shape. The layout was unique with a cool mix of mountains and water to work around on the course. If you have a county card the price is great.
My only issue was with the organization of the staff/starters. The other day I decided to ride instead of walk and I payed $15 for a cart. However, when I walked out of the clubhouse to the first tee, I was informed that they were out of carts. Not a big deal, but then they kind of suggested that it was my fault for not showing up early enough for the cart, rather than their fault for selling me a cart that they didn't have. One starter suggested that I tee off and walk, and then offered to drive a cart out to me when a cart became available (which would have been great), but then the other starter/ranger then quickly shut down that idea and said something like "no way we are going to drive a cart out to you, are you kidding me?" so I found that to be a bit rude. I ended up having to walk all 18 holes, but I did get a refund for the cart fee.
Overall, a great course but they seemed a bit disorganized for sure.

Darlington first round
Good layout nice walk. Had read a lot about long rounds. Started at 12:30 on Friday played in 4:06. There is a chance that the worst lie you have all year will be from the fairway at this course. For $50 seems like it should be a little better maintained

Great track
Love this track. Second time playing here this month. Today's round was 4 hours and 40 minutes. Waited on every tee shot and most fairway shots. Rangers just keep driving around and don't really do anything to move the course along.
My main issue is with the rude staff. Three for three. Pro shop cashier, cart guy and starter. All seemed like they would rather be somewhere else like getting root canal or something. No need to be rude fellas. we are all just trying to get through Covid and have a little fun. I usually tip these people pretty good but their bad attitude saved me a few bucks today..

Love the course, hate the slow pace of play
Darlington is my favorite Bergen County Course. Challenging terrain, every hole is unique. It was in great shape, thank you.
