Golf no where
Tried to cancel golf teatime last night because of rain and thunderstorms But would not allow me to cancel it it said I had to call when I called it said I had to go online to do it but I was not by Internet to do that.
Please let me know in reference to refunding my round or credit for future golf.
Gave the course for rating because I’ve played the course many times before not because I actually played today
Greens need a lot of work.
The course just re-oprend but the greens were rolling at like a 2. Must not have been able tonpunch them during quarrantine.

Nice course
NIce course in decent condition this time of year. Snack bar not open, Starbucks vending machine was empty. Very few food options. Overall decent for a public course.

Darlington of Old
I used to play this course a number of times evey season and referred to it as my home course. For a county course that gets heavy traffic it always was in decent shape. Due to scheduling conflicts I no longer have the time to golf as much in recent years. Reading recent reviews of this course I was a bit concerned over the course conditions. However, when I played on August 30, 2019 this is what I found. Tee boxes had some bare spots but more than enough good areas to find a sufficient tee area. Rough was not too bad. Fairways had several bare and burned out spots but most areas were in decent shape. Traps were OK, but never was a strong point at this course. Greens were very smooth and nice. Ball marks for the most part were repaired by golfers and maintenance staff so they didn't really pose an issue. In short, despite some of the recent reviews I read I thought the course was in overall good shape with some additional work needed to bring back the fairways toits prior quality. Looking forward to playing there agin before the season ends.

Needs TLC
Granted I played after some days of t-storms, but the fairways were very wet (poor drainage?). The tee boxes and greens were in pretty bad shape. Not much grass in the tee boxes and the greens were loaded with ball marks.
Great pace no snack bar or cart person
The course was fine some tee boxes could use some work. Rough was tough. Snack bar was not open. They had vending machines. Nocart person in course. It would have been nice since temperature was 95 degrees.

Maintenance Day.... but......
Tee boxes were in really bad shape. Fairways were marginally better. Greens were OK. We had to play 10-18 twice because it’s “maintenance day” although there wasn’t much maintenance going on. This course has deteriorated a lot over that last several years. Not surprised it was totally empty.
Bad course, not even on the golf now app.
Golf now get your stuff together. This course doesn’t even use your app. I booked a tee time, got a confirmation email, and then received an email the next morning at 8am saying it was cancelled. Then received another email just now saying how was your round? Horrible. And darlington is extremely unkempt don’t go

Disheartening
I've been playing Darlington for at least 40 years. I've never seen it in worse condition. It's difficult to discern the tee boxes from the uncut rough. There are weeds in some of the tee boxes that are 8 inches tall. The tees were burned out by anti-grub application earlier in the season; they haven't recovered. The fairways and rough are uncut. The course is like having a neighbor who doesn't weed, trim or cut his lawn in a timely fashion. It breaks my heart because a couple of years ago the course was in good shape. Unfortunately, all of the County courses are in bad shape. I'm not sure where the maintenance budget is going. I would strongly recommend a different course in a different county.

Tee ground, fairways, beat up, bunkers...have no sand,.all are in bad shape.

Nice Course Overall, lots of ball marks though
Course is in really good shape and a pretty fun layout, pretty easy to score. If you are a pretty long hitter most/all of the par 5's are reachable which is always fun.
Only complaint is there are a ton of ball marks on many of the greens. You expect this at the county courses though but would love some more warning signs out there.

great course
wide open course not too hard to play as fairways were not too narrow

Cart path only
It was cart path only for the entire 18 holes. Seriously, I had my 5 month pregnant wife and 65 year old father-in-law with me. It was terrible. 80° walking all over this hilly course. The fairways would have been fine for carts in my opinion. I was not happy. This also brought the rate of play to a stand still. By the 13th hole we left. If the carts were able to be used on fairways it would have been fine otherwise. The one golf ranger for this course was an absolute jam. He got my spirits lifted by being genuinely nice. Super great guy. Unfortunately I didn't catch his name.
