Terrible pace of play
A lot of older golfers playing at an extremely slow pace. Also an issue due to fact nobody wanted to let you play thru. Almost a 5 hour Wednesday morning round is crazy
Horribly Managed
This course used to be one of the best in central NJ. Just played it and they aerated in the middle of the summer... who ever the superintendent is doesn't have a clue. By aerating now, He weakened the grass roots which you never do in the middle of the summer because of the heat. as a result apx 50% of the course is absolutely dead.. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY until they hire a new super
Very Fast Greens
Conditions were great....... every hole had a different look.. Some water - if you don't know the course your ball will disappear...... Greens were in great shape and rolled true......
jersey stop
Nice little course, although with recent rains, very wet in some areas, a lot of bunkers badly damaged, in need of care. Greens weren't to bad, but you could tell too much much water and a lot of rounds on them, but undulations and slopes, they were a little tricky. Layout wasn't bad and a few of the holes, you had to take considerations into account on layups and approach shots.
Knob Hill Review
Played here before, but things were slightly different this time. While the staff was great and nothing but helpful and friendly, the course was a little more scattered than usual. i was thinking it was because of a few rowdy groups that day, but the sands in some holes were messy, and there were surprisingly more bird droppings on a couple of holes than i remembered. The food stand at the turn wasn't open the day i played as well.
Course itself was fine. No major issues for or against. Pretty solid which was the same as the last time I played. Pace was pretty quick as well.
Knob Hill 6/5/2016
I hadn't played here in 3-4 years and while it wasn't bad, nothing makes me want to rush back anytime soon.
I really didn't care for the layout. I found it to be a little goofy with many of the greens to be very tricked up. The front was a par 34 with 3 par 3's and only one par 5.
One hole was a a hard dog left right, where it looked like it would be easy to cut the corner over some trees, which I did.
When I got around the corner, there was a row of condos which I believe I hit over the top. Never a good thing to hit the ball over someone's house.
The greens still had aeration holes, which I found surprising for this late in the season.
There were also a couple of holes where if you stayed on the cart paths , you literally had a blind curve where you were directly in front of oncoming tee shots.
The staff was friendly, and the cart girl came around regularly.
Not terrible, but for the price you can do better.
Nice Course
Great staff, nice facility. Greens still bumpy from the recent aeration and top dress. Once they grow it they'll be great. Challenging layout with doglegs, elevation changes and water. Some holes are very forgiving but many are tight driving holes. Favor accuracy over distance. A few risk-reward driving holes for long hitters. Always well kept.
Challenging
A few tough shots throughout the course. Greens were being aerated, which is always annoying, but expected for this time of year. Had an enjoyable round and will be back.
I know it is early, but...
Outside of the greens, course was in great shape. The greens however, were almost unplayable. They were plugged and sanded which created channels your ball would ride. it was literally impossible to roll a ball cleanly.
Winter greens great shape
4 hour round on a packed day. Great shape for winter greens. Super starter Amy. Hooked up with fun twosome. No bathroom on course. Lots of water
Fluffy sand traps. Looking forward to playing in spring
Greens were awful
Greens were terrible, bumpy and filled with ball marks. Back 9 was really really tough to play with harsh wind. Grille room was awesome with really good food, Kobe sliders were best I've ever had.
A Good Local Course
The course won't "wow" you with layout but its got a good mix of holes. Overall they do a good job with their conditions for a public course. Greens are quick but bumpy. All holes with water hazards are in play, no matter how you decide to play each hole. Even layup shots require precision with narrow landing areas.
challenging course with a deceptive allure to the greens
enjoyed the course fun to play. the greens were challenging with no reward to being long. often there was on play being over the greens
Never a bad round here
Great as usual. Perfect weather, quality course. great service, great price on golf now
Not worth the money
Course was in terrible condition . Ranger had to tell us to pick up the pace of play on the 17th. hole when the foursome in front of us was who was backing up the whole course. Definitely not worth charging $74 to play a course like this.
Knob hill
Greens inconsistent with many bumps and past ball marks that were not repaired.
I like this course
lots of great holes on this course. I like coming here for every reason, they do it right. Its how Golf Day should be.
Great course, greens airated
Nice course. Most holes interesting. Fun to play. Couple of dog legs. Lots of elevation changes. Varying length par 3s.
Good for the money
Played on sat at 11am and it was a good pace.
When we parked the staff came with a cart to grab our clubs (nice touch). Decent course for the money. I would play again if I was in the area.
