Nice course
Fast greens. Course is decent shape. Unfortunately golfers do not repair ball marks or divots.
Course in great shape for October
Got an early Monday morning hot deal, was paired with 2 other players. Course was in excellent condition and pace of play was very good.
Well Maintained Course
Great course... decent level of difficulty... will go there again...
Very Nice Course - Excellent Day
Although the course is short in comparison to some other courses it does present challenges to all levels of golfers. In spite of the fact that the course is built around a housing compound the houses are not "in the way" of the playing area. Plan to play course again and would recommend to others.
Nice course
the course overall was good ,the greens where a little bumpy.
This is Semi-Private?
For a course that has private membership, this course was in terrible shape. Also, we had two guys jumping in front of us at the turn when there was NOBODY behind us AND we were on pace for a 3 hour and 15 minute round. Where are the starters to make sure this doesn't happen? The course is somewhat challenging, but no need to go back there to play.
jcraig
nice playable golf course. good lay of the land, some holes with elevation which you don't see too much at the shore
A Ray of Sunshine on a Cloudy Day
I feel I lack the mastery of language required to properly describe the hidden paradise that is Knob Hill Golf Course. I played 18 holes at Knob Hill this afternoon, and it was honestly one of the most relaxing days I can remember. I would like to take a moment to share my experience.
Knob Hill Golf Club is hidden in beautiful neighborhood in the suburbs of of Manalapan Township, NJ. I drove to the club from New York City, and it took about an hour door to door. At first glance, it almost appears out of place because of the proximity to the surrounding homes. My friend, who lives in the area, noted that he had driven by the course many times and had always thought it was a retirement community. The entire neighborhood is well kept and extremely colorful. It would be virtually impossible to find a better location to open a golf club. When we first arrived at the course, I had the same feeling that Jake Sully must have had when he discovered the Na'vi on Pandora.
The day started out with a bit of a scare. Upon arriving at the club, I learned that I had booked the tee time for the threesome I was playing with on the wrong day. This was not the first time I have made this mistake, and I can tell you that it is typically a huge inconvenience. Many courses try and charge you for the missed slot, and give you a hard time when you try get on the course without a reservation. The Knob Hill staff could not have been more accommodating. Not only did they put us on the course immediately, but they extended the special discount that we were scheduled to earn from the online booking. We were lucky that it was drizzling on and off throughout the day and the course was open, but I never got the impression from the Knob Hill team that we would have been treated differently on a more crowded day.
The pro shop is attached to a clubhouse that includes fantastic bar and large dinning hall for events. You can buy beer in the bar to take out onto the course before you start, and there are several carts driving around the course with beer and snacks. When we pulled into the parking lot, a woman met us at our car with a golf cart and helped us strap in our bags. Keep in mind that we are not members of the club and were just there for the day.
The highlight of the day was the course itself. The tee boxes, greens, and fairways were better kept than any public course I have visited in New Jersey. Each hole has its own distinct character and is a unique experience unto itself. The course is covered with beautiful lakes and ponds that make the holes both challenging and rewarding. On many holes of the course you can hear the soothing sounds of pop radio permeating from the outdoor speakers in the pool area. At one point, on of the employees got on the loudspeaker and told all of the golfers and swimmers that we were going to have a wonderful time despite the inclement weather conditions. She could not have been more accurate.
Knob Hill Golf Club is shinning beacon of hope in a world that is often dark. The beauty of the course is matched only by the passion of the staff that maintains it. I plan on going back many times, and encourage you to do the same.
Very interesting layout.
Course was in great shape, staff was very courteous and professional.
Difficult greens
Could do well with 5 iron and a pitching wedge. But need to on top of your putting!
Well Worth It
For 34$ a round there is no better deal out there. I have paid 80$ here before so any round priced under 40$ is a steal, with cart. This course is short yet challenging and requires that you hit the ball straight. Wayward shots will lead to trouble as there is water and lots of sand throughout the course. The fairways are always soft and the greens run fast. This course will challenge every shot in the bag and will have you coming back for more.
Looking forward to playing again
1st time there with friends. Really nice course, and challenging. All the staff were extremely
friendly and helpful. Would recommend to any level golfer
Hidden Gem
Knob Hill is an absolute hidden gem i played there on a Wednesday afternoon and the course was in mint condition. my tee time was 1pm and myself and a friend teed off exactly at 1pm. There was no one on the course we played in a little over 3hours. Again the course was in great shape a little short for the whites, But i am an 8 handicap and from the blues it was a good length. I would definitely recommend this prestine course to others
Knob hill review
Great course & catch it at the right time, great value- problem is hackers get the same value. Played the course 3 times prior in less than 4.5 hours with groups all around us- 7/5 got stuck on the 3rd tee behind horrible group & were lucky to finish by 8. Need a ranger every once in a while but still love the course
Nice short course with friendly staff
Played early afternoon with course pretty empty so pace of play was excellent until I caught a foursome at 15 which slowed the last 4 holes down considerably but still finished in about 3 hrs. Course is well maintained and staff was extremely friendly. It's not a long course but does have some challenges and was definitely worth the hot deal price. I will certainly play there again.
This course was a great Experience

Great course
First time playing and glad I did as I will definitely be coming back. Great layout with elevation changes and manicure between grass was very nice. Greens are really fast.
Knob Hill
Short, tight course but in decent condition and some nice hilly holes.. Pretty fun but very narrow on some holes
