Gem close to Philadelphia
Wonderful round of golf on a course in great condition. As others have mentioned, the clubhouse is basically a trailer at the moment while they renovate, but the course is in excellent condition. The staff is super friendly and they had burgers/hot dogs/drinks set up outside.
Course itself is on the shorter side with some very challenging, small greens. Accuracy is key as I barely took out my driver, instead opting for a long iron off the tee. Large backup on the 1st hole just before noon on a Friday, but my friend and I went to the back 9 and played those in 90 minutes flat - no joke. However, when we got back around, we were a full 3 holes ahead of the other folks who teed off at 1.
Will definitely be coming back to take it on once again.
Nice round
Nice conditions. Great value. Sand needs a little work but decent challenge and nice layout
Very enjoyable
I was super pleased with the course, especially in the middle of August. The course was challenging, but thoughtfully laid out. The greens were very fast and smooth. Some of the tee boxes were recently aerated, and the sand traps were a but packed. But for a public course that only cost $40 a head, I was very happy with the value. I will probably just play here from now on. My wife and I commented several times to each other throughout the round how great the place looked.
I wish they had sand/seed holders in the carts for divots. I hated leaving them unrepaired.
Very enjoyable round
The course has a great design and us challenging. The greens were in goid shape a but slow but was very hot so they likely left them a bit longer. (Practice green was quick.)
I have played numerous south nj courses this summer and would definetly play this one again and recommend it.
They are in th process of building a clubhouse so i believe they are lower in vost presently then the value on holf now.
A nice course.
First time playing here, I was pleasantly surprised. Nice course, not overly difficult but some challenges. Quite a few bunkers that were raked and in nice condition. Greens were nice. Not overly fast but nice. The only thing that could use improving were the fairways. Some crabgrass here and there. The best thing was the pace of play. Not crowded, I played as a single in two and one half hours. A nice day! Definitely would go back.
Something to think about on every tee
Arrived at the course a little early and the usual guys were hanging around. They let me jump in the cart and go. The course is in great shape. The greens are soft and roll nicely. Deer and turkey wonder throughout the back nine. Give it a shot from the back tees.
Great Course, Amenities Work in Progress
The course is in great condition. Several divots from plentiful play, but course management does a good job with repair work. If you seek amenities, you may want to look elsewhere, as they are under full renovation and currently using contractor trailers for in-house amenities. They've done a good job of making it work. However, most play for the course, not the amenities. That's just a bonus.
Overall the course is TIGHT. Fairways are well manicured. Greens are fast and smooth (mostly). Tee boxes could use the most work, as this is where golfers tend to not replace divots. Some enforcement here would be helpful. Plenty of doglegs, left and right, sand and water features. This is a challenging course regardless of the tee of choice. Recommended for the A striker, or those seeking a challenge. Regardless, a very playable, enjoyable course!
Fun course, lots of nature
I play this course frequently and I enjoy it a lot. Has a good layout lots of twists and bumps, traps are positioned is challenging spots makes it a fun round. I've been stuck behind some slow groups here and the crowd doesn't always seem that friendly. But I always have a good time at the links and my pals enjoy it as well.
Another sub 4 hour round
Good day today at The Links. The greens are in great shape and rolling very nicely. They also hold your approach shots . Nice action on the chips too. Make sure you take your Gps apps or laser shooter. The course makes you think about most every shot. Wild Turkeys and deer roam the back 9.
Poor conditions and layout
Going from hole to hole is a task in that there's no clear signs about how to proceed, there are several unmarked forks in the path with no direction about what goes where, the "club house" is a trailer, and the greens were in poor condition. Friendly staff, but that's about it.
The more I play this course the more I like it.
I really like the course from the back tees. Most of the 4 pars have you hitting out of a shoot between the pines. The greens are real receptive to your long irons and chipping. Thanks to the staff today to bringing out water to us. 100 degrees.!
Hot
Nice place to play in the heat. Plenty of tree lined fairways to find shade. The course was in good enough shape for an enjoyable day. Play it from the back for the best experience..
Great value
First time playing here. I knew the club house was under renovation. But they had guys making hotdogs and burgers on the grill...not the little frozen ones, but good ones. They were very friendly and made our burgers to our liking. I don’t know why they kept the cash register 60 feet from the grill and the spot where they take ur order, but I’m sure they have a reason. The fact that they had food available during a renovation tells you how important those things are to the consumer.
I love playing here
Fantastic course. I will continue playing here for a long time.
The Links
Have not played this course for more then 5 years. Overall conditions were very good. Green speed was good and the fairways were very good. There are still some bare spots offf of the fairways, but overall I was impressed by the conditions. The club house is being rebuilt so the facilities are limited to a trailer. But don't let that stop you from playing this course.
Vastly Improved
Partnered w/player that hadn't played course for 3 years & rated it "vastly" improved. Greens & fairways in great shape.
Recent demolition of existing clubhouse sets them back for amenities, but drinks available @trailer...liquor if you've signed up for their "social membership".
It’s your ordinary neighborhood golf course
Nothing fantastic, and nothing like ‘once a private club’. Frustrating pace, kids whacking 2-3times from the tee box, dog-walkers walking across fairway, and so on. But the course layout is very pretty, capped by monumental task of par 3’ing #8 over the full water. That was great.
Clubhouse Under Construction
The old clubhouse is demolished and great intentions of a new and improved experience. Staff was welcoming, and they even had an outside food concession set up with hot dogs burgers etc., even breakfast sandeiches cooked to order. New tee markers and the course is in decent shape. Not bad, not great, but good..
Looking forward to a NEW golf experience when all is complete. Thanks to the new owners for investing in making the old course new again!
