Play somewhere else
I played here a couple of times a few years ago back when it was private. First off, the design of the course is quirky, annoying and not all that fun, but at least it was well maintained. Since being sold and going semi-private, it's now absolutely terrible. The greens are painfully slow. The fairways are in poor condition. The tee boxes are really in poor condition. I'm not even going to comment on the bunkers... as it's hard to even call them bunkers. From the shape of the cart paths to the missing tee markers to the characters they have working there, it's blatantly obvious that they aren't even trying.
If you're thinking of playing here, do yourself a favor and play somewhere else. As far as the Links has deteriorated, they should just doze it and build houses.
Good Experience
Course was in very good condition. The feel of a Carolina Resort The staff was very friendly. Great value when compared to other courses in the South Jersey area.
Good value
The course was in good shape as usual. Greens were not as fast as they have been before but rolled very true.
The links
Decent course, above average conditions. Bunkers could use work. Greens and fairways were in above average shape. Rough was nice too. Tee boxes were also in good shape.
fair course
Tight fairways and small maintained greens....sand boxes not maintained properly.
Still tight and challenging
Good round had by all.
Only question is regarding one staff member, I am assuming he was some type of Ranger type, who showed up twice and fairly closely followed us, all somber etc. There was nobody in front or behind us all day except a single who did not want to play through. I think we completed our round in 3 3/4 hours. Just strange.
Much improved
I was a member at the Links when it was a private club, owned by the DiSimeon family. It was always in terrific shape and pace of play was fast. Unfortunately, when it sold to another group the course conditions consistently deteriorated and I left a few years ago. I recently heard the course had sold again and decided to give it another try. I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely add it back to my play list.
Tight course great value
Staff had great attitude. made us feel welcomed. Course in very nice shape. Course is tight with small greens very challenging. Good value!!!
awesome
Great staff very professional. Course is in great shape for public course and very tight and tree lined I think $59 on weekend is great value
tight and tricky
played halloween day, 2014, only played 10 holes, got very late start. you need to keep ball in fairway here, thick rough, big penalties if you don't...do not play here if you spray the ball all over the place. lots and lots of sand. i found much of it. course in overall nice condition but cartpaths were terrible. that said, with their budgetary constraints, i would rather they spend what money they have on keeping the course nice instead of the cartpaths. we got a bargain price...
The Links
Very nice course to play.fareways are great as well as the greens. I enjoyed playing here and will be playing here often.
Great experience great staff
It wasn't quite what I expected going to a links course, as it was very tight and lots of trees. However, the course was maintained extremely well with great looking fairways and greens. The man at the pro shop was extremely friendly and helpful since it was my first time at the course.
Another good golf day!
This was a great afternoon of golf. Did everything on line which made the transaction easy. Great afternoon price. The only downfall was that there was a tournament going on which they didn't tell you about and we had to play the back 9 twice, never got to experience the front 9
A MUST PLAY WHEN ON GOLF NOW! DON'T MISS IT
Challenging at 6400 yards! Whites play at 5700 yards. Too short. Nothing in between.
Very Good Golf to be had at the Links of Marlton
The Links G.C. a strong 3 out of 5
Course was in fair shape: Some bunkers needed more sand; greens OK but pretty slow; cart paths in poor shape. Course needs some capital improvement.
Decent course. And for my $21 Hot Deal it was definitely a good value.
I will be going back.
Very enjoyable course. All holes are tree lined. Even though it's surrounded by houses and you drive through neighborhoods you never really see them on the course. Very woodsy. Fairways where in great condition as well as the greens. Some tee boxes could have used some work but nothing to bad. A lot of doglegs. A lot of fairway bunkers and green side bunkers. Challenging par 3's in particular hole 8. Back to back par 5s on the front and back nines. I don't recall there being a straight hole on the course with the exceptions of a few par 3s. A lot of tee shots are blind as well as some approaches. Sand traps could use some work though, sand was pretty hard. They had sand bottles on the carts for divots but they were empty as well as the other ones on the course. But I guess that's nitpicking. Spotted some golfers not replacing divots they made when they could have. You should always replace your divots if you can. The only regret I have is I didn't get there in time to try out the practice area. Driving range, putting greens with green side bunkers. Didn't get to try the food either time was limited. I did give food and drink 3 stars cause there was cart girl who came by every couple of holes with a decent enough selection. And the food I seen looked pretty good.. Clubhouse and pro shop were pleasant enough. When I go back I will be sure to have enough time to get to the things I couldn't today. And I will be going back, if you haven't played it I recommend you do.
Ok for the money but quirky
This was an ok course for $39. Greens were good but slow. The one thing I really disliked was the design. Every hole had a dogleg and just about every dogleg had a tree on the corner that encroached the fairway. There were also several holes that had trees in the middle of the fairway too. I'm a 10 handicap and I found it frustrating and borderline unfair at times. I have no problem with a course making you hit quality shots but this was a bit rediculous. I can imagine if I played here on a weekend how slow a round could've been with a foursome of 15's or higher.
Review
First timer here - course was not in good condition. $40 for the round but will probably not play here again...just disappointing
The learning course
Not a bad course to learn on the front 9 is pretty open and the back 9 is a nice mixture of more tight fairways and open fairways
