Knoll East Country Club, The

The course was closed for aeration, yet GolfNoe let me confirm a reservation despite the course being closed.

The course condition was poor. Pace of play, not great. Balls flying onto other fairways every 2 mins. Golf carts had a nice gps of each hole which was good. What wasn’t good is that the carts would stop working when you were off the cart paths and many holes there don’t have cart path so that doesn’t make any sense. I would only play there again with a great golf now hot deal and it would be on a weekday. Weekend way too crowded.

The course was in good shape, greens rolled nice. Played 18 in under 4 hours which is pretty good for midday at a NJ public course. Although it is 5900 yards, it plays longer. Subtle elevations on greens and fairways, and a few tight holes make the yardage deceiving.

The one drawback is the lack of supervision on the course. You really need to keep your head on a swivel. Balls are flying all other the place and other golfers consistently walk on to the parallel fairways, even when your about to hit/tee off. If they had rangers and a starter it would help a lot with that. A beverage cart would help as well, no water on the course until you get to the turn.

When I arrived for my 2:08 tee time, the starters said Golfnow had triple booked the course and I’d have to wait an hour. They seemed completely disorganized and untrained to handle the situation. They sent me off the back 9 because of the backup and that a league was teeing off at 4. But when I came to the turn, they were no help, they said there was nothing they could do to help. I’ll never use Golfnow and will never play that course again.

I booked a 2:08pm tee time on Golf Now the morning of 6/13/25, when I showed up to play the two starters, who appeared completely disorganized and inexperienced, said Golf Now had triple booked my tee time and many others. They said I would have to wait over an hour, which would likely mean I couldn't finish the round. They also said they had a league teeing off at 4pm so they were going to be very crowded. They sent me off the back nine instead, which was better than waiting an hour, but they had no plan and were no help when I came back and wanted to play the front nine second. They said the league was still teeing off and if I wanted to play the back nine again I could wait around and hope for an opening. This was my first and last time using Golf Now and playing Knoll East, what a complete and utter disorganized mess.

Teed off at 1:20pm

My twosome caught up to a pair of pre-teens who were all over the place. By the 7th hole they merged with four other pre-teens and created a sixsome. We bypassed them skipping a hole. Never saw a ranger and the stater could not care less. Poorly run course

I booked a 2:16pm time slot for 126 dollars. I got to the course around 2pm and they told me they had no carts available, my time slot, the time slot before me and after me were QUADRUPLE BOOKED and because of this, our tee time was pushed back more than an hour. I had to ditch after 9 holes because it was getting late and I had plans for 730pm. I would have had ample time had I got out at my BOOKED TIME but I not only lost out on 9 holes but also 65

Dollars.

Second time playing this week and the course is in good shape. One suggestion would be to put in stakes for cart restrictions. Carts ae constantly stalling out because of the lack of clarity of where the cart paths are.

I was surprised this course was in such good shape this late into the season. I will definitely play there again this year.
