Sunset Valley Golf Course
Sunset Valley Golf Course is consistently ranked as one of the best public courses in New Jersey. It is one of four golf courses in the Morris County Parks system and it's considered the toughest. Located in Pompton Plains, the course is nestled in a wooded valley. It has a dramatic topography that provides plenty of ups and downs throughout the golf course. Golfers can expect a variety of elevation changes as well as a few blind shots and forced carries. Strategically placed bunkers come into play along the fast, undulating greens and mature trees line the rolling fairways. Water hazards come into play on a few holes too. Sunset Valley Golf Course's final three holes present one of the area's toughest finishes. The trio begins with the uphill par-5 16th and then finishes with two long par 4s.

Must go GC in NJ, especially during fall!
The course is very well maintained, and friendly staff.
This in my opinion is a must-go if you can get a good deal.
Course in great shape. Greens recently cut and rolled so super fast. Breathtaking views of fall foliage.
Course has unfair greens and too tight a layout on several holes but other than that Is ok.
the greens were aerated a couple of weeks ago and they're almost back to normal. Some tee boxes were in bad shape but otherwise the course was well maintained.
The greens were aerated and tough to putt on. The tees were chopped up. It was disappointing because the course is usually in better condition. I’m
Slow play and cart path only rule in force because of heavy rains Trop storm Henri.
Keep up the pace
Staff and Rangers very polite and friendly. Perhaps too nice to groups that play slow.
Nestled between some small mountains that create nice views,, course layout on front 9 presented some challenge but very fair. Greens have plenty of tricky slopes, make sure you’re on the right side of the pin. Couldn’t review the back 9 since Mother Nature decided to rain heavily locally in the area to abort the round. Will definitely return.
The greens are very challenging because of the characteristics of the course by nature but a lot golfers didn’t fix their divots. Also, the price for the golf cart are excessive too.
Course is in pristine shape and the greens are very difficult. Beautiful place, a little pricey but a lot of fun!
