Sunset Valley Golf Course

Challenging course. Fast greens, some waves, some sloped. My only complaint was the cost of the golf cart. $25 each is a bit steep.

One of the best public courses in Northern NJ for the money. Some fairways have close proximity to other fairways, and the cart paths can be a bit challenging, the course itself was in great shape when I played. And the greens were fast making them even more challenging beyond the undulation of most. If your putts aren't precise, you risk flying past - or falling off - the greens.

Played the course when I booked a hot deal for 52.00 dollars. I decided to walk the course with a pushcart. The walk was not extraneous at all; the course is fairly walkable. The fairways and greens were in good shape. I have played here before and have paid closer to $85 for the round. I think that is a bit high considering there are better courses in the area. But for the hot deal I got, I was satisfied with the course. I will play again.

They charged cart fee $25 each never deal not included cart...

Been playing Sunset once or twice a year for a long time. Unfortunately the course conditions have never improved and are just average right now. Fairways are thin, greens have many different shades of grass and are super fast right now. Still great scenery throughout. Tee boxes are good and sand is excellent in traps. As an out of county player, I would only play again on a hot deal.

As always, Sunset Valley’s greens are quick, very sloped and a challenge for all. They can be very difficult when you are above the hole. Overall, another enjoyable, yet challenging round. Thanks to the staff for all you do!

If you like a putting challenge you will enjoy this course. Well kept greens are hard to read and quite fast. The whole course is well kept and the pace was perfect.

Played Sunset Valley on a rainy and windy day. The course held up against the rain very well. Greens were damp but still fast and true. No puddles or standing water anywhere. Pace of play was great with the course being empty.

When I booked it did not include a cart, I thought it did so we got charged another &20 each!

Where is the hot deal?

First time playing and loved it! Great scenery all over the course. The holes were challenging and greens were tough! Definitely a great course to put your skills to the test!

The course is a well-designed course with challenging layout. I am speaking as a novice golfer with under 2 years of experience. I enjoyed the course and for being early in the season I did not see any big issues with the conditions. One thing that does annoy me is how courses charge each rider of a cart the cart fee. I feel this is an extra charge that courses place on players that is really not necessary. But overall, it is a good course.

The course was in surprisingly good condition for March. Fairly dry, greens were in good condition. Very windy but many holes were protected by the mountains. We started 30 mins late due to a frost delay. Nothing you can do about that.
