Princeton
Course has a nice layout, lot of bad lies even in fairways, i.e. Dirt patches, pace of play was slow , staff extremely friendly, I would go back if I know the best time not to get behind 70 something year old lady's, glad they only played 9! But it was a great value , I'd go back again in future!
Regret....
Second time back on this course but, regretful after a round. Overall condition was poor. Front 9 was below average fairway condition with bumpy green. Some fairways were hard to distinguish between fairway and rough.
For back 9, what can I say....This course needs major repair to fix drainage system. Yes, there was light rain before my round but it wasn't a harsh rain to make it unplayable. It's improper drainage. I've played in rainy condition worst than this day but, this course made it very difficult to even walk on fairway with soggy and muddy condition. Even an elevation greens were soak and had soggy condition. To make matters worst, I had to rush to finish my round in hurry because a ranger came by and inform me that I must return my cart before 4:15PM. At other courses, they usually advise to return before sundown. I checked forecast this day and sundown was at 4:52PM. Even with GolfNow bargain, I have a regret I chose this day to play here for a second time.
We're sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your round, William7633805.
In regards to the drainage, that was from the flooding rain that happened earlier in the week. Our drainage has been much improved but unfortunately when we get that much rain during this time of year when the ground is frozen, the water that accumulates stays around as ice and when the warmer temperatures came with some additional rain – that melting produced some terrible playing conditions on those holes.
As for the cart issue, you are absolutely right. You should not have been made to return the cart that early. Please know that we have spoken to our staff about this and communicated that "return by sunset" is our policy.
We hope you will come and play us again. Have a great weekend!
Winter Golf
Had fun playing in January. 40 degrees and sunny. The ball semed to go a little further than when it's warm so I had to play short of the greens and let it roll to the hole. If you hit the green with a high shot it bounced of the green. But the course was in very good shape, greens were good, staff were friendly and I played in under 3 hours. A couple of walkers out there on my latter holes but that did not slow me down.
Thanks for the great feedback, uOCJU5977OC! We're happy to hear that you enjoyed your round with us! Hope to see you again soon!
Great greens
Beautiful weather. Course in great shape. Only issue carts had to be in at 2pm. Noon t time. Hot deal got lukewarm after that. No notice of that issue when booking
Thank you for the good review, susan1! We will endeavor to make our cart policy more visible. Hope to see you again!
Leaves
Too many leaves left in the fairway very hard to find your ball.
Thank you for the feedback, uraway22! We apologize for the amount of leaves on the course and we hope you'll return to play here again soon.!
Shorter Course but Nice
Often playing at Mercer Oaks, the locals there have had negative reviews of Princeton since its also part of their county system. I decided to try it out and was pleasantly surprised. Although the layout and facilities aren't as nice as Mercer, the conditions were still pretty good, most importantly the greens rolled nicely. It's a different course because its shorter, narrow tree lined fairways and holes are next to each other. It's a different experience but still a good one. If you're having trouble with the driver, you can get away with hitting hybrids and long irons.
SLOW PACE
Thanks to Golf now first for excellent price, course conditions good, fantastic weather, only problem is slow pace, took more than 5hrs. this course should not take more than 4hrs walking, lot of seniors slows down the pace of play, had to wait for more than 10 min. on every tee. Take lots of balls, this time of the year with all the leaves, verry very difficult to find the ball even if you are in the fair way.
Cheers
Thank you for the feedback, gouri. We realize slow play can be frustrating and we appreciate the patience you showed. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Go Princeton county club
What a day, what a price, what a good time.
Go to goflnow and book a tee time at this course.
We're so happy you had a good time, u000003283798! Don't be a stranger!
Bait and
I am new to the area and this was my first time at this course. My friend and I signed up for 18 holes with cart for twilight and were only expecting to play 9. We skipped a few holes on the front 9 because of the sign and figured we just play as much as we could until the cart was due. When we got to the 10, the ranger ordered us to return the cart half an hour before it was due because we already "finished" 9 holes. So despite online stating it was 18 with cart, you are really only allowed to play the front 9. Eventually he said you can keep playing but you have to walk. The course should really update the bookings to reflect 9 holes if they only want people to play 9 holes. Also the ranger really should never work in customer service. Not the best experience....
Well worth the money
Course was in pretty good shape for the end of the season. Pace was good for mid week. Tee boxes were showing some wear but fairways and greens were still in good shape.
A decent public course
Played it for the first time on Labor Day. A very walkable, decent public course. Wide open fairways and large greens. You can post a good score here. Many holes run parallel to each other, so traffic could be an issue.
I wouldn't pay good money to play here. However, if you can grab a discounted rate, it's worth a try.
Keep running
Ball travels far even if you don't flush it.nice course I recommend to play for all golfers
Golfer friendly
Use your 3 wood driver on a couple of holes.ball has great run on most shots, makes you feel any shot unreasonable possible fast greens enjoyable only downer pace of play
Decent
For $20 a round with a cart I was more then satisfied with the conditions of the course.
nice course
the course was in good shape greens were good no backup or wait I would go back again soon
Pretty good course
The staff was friendly. Got me out earlier even though slightly crowded. Good course for the money. Would go again.
Princeton golf is a go
The course is a bit tight with some challenging holes but fun, and overall a fair and balanced test of golf. The greens were slow but in good shape, and several holes had challenging bunkers but they didn't overdo it. No lakes but several canals can penalize a bad shot. Overall, very nice course!
Not bad, been to better
Can't complain, I'm fairly easy on reviews on courses. This one doesn't JUMP OUT as memorable but it's not bad either. Little crowded so expect a full 4 hours for play. Otherwise, not much to say. Not many areas to lose your ball so forgiving fairways are always a nice touch for straight to semi-straight drivers
Not impressed
The staff were not very friendly, even though I let them all know this was my first time playing the course. The course is not very long, I only used my driver twice. A good portion of the tee boxes were chewed up and the greens were very slow. The pace of play was also slow even though there were marshalls riding in carts. I got a great deal on GolfNow, besides that I was not impressed.
