Very short course
First time playing Princeton. People were very nice, but the course wasn't terribly interesting. It was extremely short. If you're even a moderately long player, you don't need to hit anything more than an iron off the tee of every par 4. Also there were some odd dog legs that require you have a GPS or at least some local course knowledge.
I wasn't a fan, but this would be a really fun course for a short, straight hitter. Also would be great for walking.
Course is nice
Course was fun. First time playing course. Paired with 2 other golfers, and they were about same skill level. I would play this course again.
Absolutely rude and horrendous staff
Terrible staff. We had a lady following us and then approached us on the 7th hole asking "do you guys expect to play all 18 holes". We paid for 18 holes and it wasn't our fault that we waited on the 1st green for 30mins for the sprinklers to stop. On the 18th hole with sunlight left we had a staff member tell us we were done and to just take a par on the last hole. We said we had one hole left and he said nope you took too long. Absolutely rude staff.
Pace of play.
Convenient for us living in Philly. Course in pretty good shape. Pace of play seemed slow. That's what you get playing a muni.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
Do not waste your money. First thing first, we were 2 minutes late for our tee time and it was a huge deal, they act as if I was playing at pebble beach of Augusta. 2) the staff is extremely rude especially the Maintainance workers, they cut the grass in front of every tee box and they take forever so you can not tee off. A couple of workers were just sitting in the fairway on their mowers when we were trying to tee off. THIS WAS DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR FROM THEM. 3) course is very easy with a couple of dog legs and some bunkers each hole plays the same driver to a pitching wedge or 9 iron and putting on the green , no fun challenges at all. Finally if you are not apart of their elite group do not go to this course they look at you as if you are an outsider and you feel unwelcomed from the moment you step into the clubhouse. Also the carts sound like lawnmowers and they are extremely loud to drive.
golf
pace of play was not that fast overall good. I will come back in play in the near future
Great Enhancements to course
Played this course many times but several years ago. After being away for such a long period. we were really impressed to see the cosmetic changes that have been made. Everything is better about the entire experience and people who haven't tried it out are missing a real treat. Greens have always been tricky with lots of slope from back to front and the steep drop-off at the rear of many greens. This course is now on a par with the other Mercer County tracks.
nice greens
This course was recently renovated and I heard it used to be in rough shape. However, it was in very nice shape and the greens were beautiful.
Cart rules
Course in good shape and not wet but was only allowed carts at 90 degrees. I feel sometimes there can be too much precaution in this area.
county gem
Had heard bad things about the greens but found them to be in great condition. Plays fairly flat but in great condition. Pace of play was slow due to a slow group in front of me, still well worth it.
Slow
Easy course to practice on. Straight and flat (for the most part). Unfortuantely they let walkers on in the morning. It took over 4 1/2 hrs for the round.
Nice Course,
The course has nice driving range near the first tee which always helps. The sign in staff was friendly, they have a large clock by the first tee and I went off exactly at the scheduled time. The layout was interesting , not overly long but tight. You don't need to use a driver on several holes, the mature tree lines keep you honest on trying to cut corners. The canal runs along several holes also, so hitting fairways is important. The greens were the best I've seen in a while.Sand traps were raked and well maintained. Pretty course. Played in a little over 4 hours. Easy course to walk if you choose to.The course is in great shape, well managed, very enjoyable at the Golf Now rate I paid. I'm told the back 9 has flooded in the past, but that's life near a canal. Would definitely recommend.
Nice Change
They have put a lot of money into the course and clubhouse and it looks great. Course was the best i ever saw it. I was really impressed.
Nice surprise
Good shape even though under construction. Fairway and greens in good shape. Would definitely play again.
course well taken care of
course was updated and greens were great. they must have put some money into the course since the last time my friends were here. They thought the course was going to be bad. the back nine needs a little drainage solutions since it was very wet. I would recommend the course.
Every Green the Same
Being a County Course the overall conditions were good. The back nine was a bit muddy but after the rains we had surprised we could play it all. The only real negative was that every green was the same. They all were round sloping from back to front. Would have liked to have seen different looks.
good value worth the play time
good value for the money and worthwhile to play take the time hit a few airtaed greens but overall good course
Great Value
Princeton has a lot to offer, course is well laid out with several interesting holes. Course is not very long, many birdy opportunities, greens are in great condition and quite a challenge on at least 5 holes. I will definitely play there again.
Hidden Gem
Princeton Country Club is an interesting little course tucked in a very hectic area. Even though it is literality just a tee shot from
the very busy route 1 corridor, PCC is a surprisingly serene course. With holes that run along and cross the Delaware and Raritan canal and others that border the Stony brook it is also a very scenic layout. PCC is not an overly long tract and can be played from the blues by an intermediate player. However, the course is not without it's defenses such as tree-lined fairways and small(ish) elevated greens. A fun course to play and reasonable to check out.. worth it.
I only paid $12 to ride for this round, so I have no right to complain. I like the course's setup, but the traps could be raked.
As I mentioned above, I only paid $12 to play this round so I can't complain. The course has a nice layout.
A concern I have is with the Golfnow website. That last two times I have signed up to play, I have been charged three times. Eventually this seems to be resolved, but I don't under stand why it happens in the first place.
