Ash brook
The course has a nice layout. The are a lot of areas either very wet or very dry. Too much cart path only. Very friendly staff.
New course for me
The course has a nice layout. Puddles and bare spots everywhere. Some bunkers need more sand.
Swamp land
It had rained 2 days before we played. The course was still cart path only. They didn’t notify us that either. Didn’t know until after we started and the cart gps said it. 70 percent of the holes had swamp land that you would sink into if you stepped into it. There were water pumps on the course pumping water off of it. $68 to walk then $18 for the cart. Outrageous with the conditions to charge that much.
Didn’t get a chance to play it. Woke up feeling sick. It would be nice if I was able to cancel and get some kind of credit.
Always a Pleasure
We, as a group, only get to Ash Brook one or two times a season. Every time we return the course has always improved. When we first played there quite a few years ago the bunkers we're being worked on. Now they are some of the nicest bunkers I have ever experienced (not that I want to play from them). The rough is lush but not too deep to loose your ball. The fairways are generous and well kept. Finally the greens are not the most aesthetically looking but they run fast and true and are both a challenge and a pleasure to putt on. The New(ish) clubhouse is beautiful with a great bar/ restaurant that should be enjoyed post round. The entire staff was both incredibly friendly and helpful. If we lived closer we would be there more....a lot more !!!
Upgrades
I had played this course several years ago, there has been a marked improvement of the facility, some serious money has been spent. when I played years ago the layout of the front 9 and the back 9 have been reversed.
I knew that the course had a drainage problem so I played while there was no rain. Apparently that does not matter. Several fairways hold significant water that prevent the use os golf carts. Most fairways and greens are in beautiful condition. I will play it again tho, it is very enjoyable place to play.
