Not good value for money
I played this course for the first time. It is extremely tight. I would recommend you wear a hard hat as there's an excellent chance an errant golf ball will land near you. The fairways and greens are so closely packed together, it is difficult to understand which flag you are supposed to aim for. Also, for unexplained reasons, they were watering the course during the day which resulted in massive puddles near the greens. Why they water to such excess is unknown. Altogether, not particularly worthwhile. There are better nine-hole courses in the area if you only have time for a quick round.
Hot day good golf
Course was a little wet due to the storm last night. We still managed to get a good round in. I’m getting very familiar with the course as well and playing it much better
American Express
To Whom It May Concern,
We (my son and I) made 3 reservations for a 5:20 tee time. When i checked in at the clubhouse, I was told that the Green Fees were not paid for, very unusual. I have used "Golf Now" several times in the past, without having this issue. Hoping I'm not "Double charged"
Only 9 holes but tough
Shortish, hilly narrow fairways but tee to green in good shape rough longish do not stray off the fairways or your ball is lost
Early round good round
Course wasn’t too busy this morning which was good and I had a great relaxing round. Only thing behind us were the deer!
This place stinks
Save yourself the trouble and play a real course. Greg has a stick up his butt. Plenty of better places to play for the price they charge and getting 18 in is impossible.
Strange layout, tight course, rough terrain
I was standing on top of a hill, gps says in 120 yards out from a flag, but it looked more like 225 to me. I asked someone else and he confirmed it was 120, so not judging my eyes I took a club for 120. Turns out the flag was 40 feet below me in a gulley and 80 yards in front of another flag.
Another time I was standing at a tee. The right side of the fairway sits atop a hill 50 feet above the left side. The geeen is in the middle of the two.
I guess if you like quizzical holes that turn your game into Sudoko then this might be the course for you.
Be wary of the rough. It’s thick and largely unkept. Almost at a realistic height, but you will be looking hard for wayward balls. One shot land 10 feet off the green, but right next to another tee box. After searching for 10 min. I gave up on the advice of another player who plays here frequently and said “they’re monsters out here” strongly implying someone probably just lifted my ball.
You will be hitting into traffic frequently here. The course is tightly squeezed in.
Nice surprise!
First time at Scotch Hills and enjoyed the 9 holes. The hills challenge you but the course is in great condition. Socially distancing in effect and very easy to check in. Will return.
Fun track
My first time playing Scotch Hills and it was a very enjoyable 9 holes. Course and greens were in good condition and the pace of play was perfect - never had to wait to take a swing. What it doesn’t have in length it makes up for with character. I will definitely play it again.
Good course
Course is a little awkward with the closeness of other players on different fairways. Very challenging and fun course to play. Can’t wait to play it again.
The website to pay is out dated. You can only pay for one person. I was going with my son and it would not let me pay for both of us. Then it is only for 9 holes which they don’t tell you when you first book. It says if it isn’t to busy they will let you play 18 if you repay. When I asked to play 18 they said there was no room. Who plays only 9 holes? I would never book this place again
