Nostalgia
I learned how to play the game on this course in 1985 and played it until I left eh area in 1995 so this was a bit of nostalgia after the name change. Much remains the same, although sadly the course conditions have slipped. the greens used to be the best public greens in the country true and lightning fast. Theyre not bad now, but much much slower than they used to be, which is a shame because that is this very short course's defence. Fairways were good. Bunkers were a tradgedy. Really terrible. Also the tee boxes on the fitfth hole have been moved, which makes the hole much less of a challenge. Overall a nice bit of nostalgia. Id love to see the greens go back to where they used to be, and the bunkers maintatined. Its a great little course that plays way harder than you might imagine.
Hilly is an understatement
1st time there. Planned on walking but was told carts weren't allowed due to very wet conditions from rain yesterday. 1st hole was slightly uphill which was fine. The rest of the 9-hole course was pretty hilly. Trudged my fat @$$ behind my push cart as best I could. Had to catch my breath on a few tee boxes, lol. Great gem in the middle of town
Nice course. course in very good shape , greens beyond fast.
Great practice course
I love this course good way to practice for the 18. Staff is amazing and helpful. I was late due to having to go back to grab my putter, they said no worries and just put me with the next group. I feel like I see more of me there diversity in color which is important for Atleast me. Overall the players are kind and respectful.
Shady Rest
Keep your head up out there tight course with beginners hitting balls all over the place. High school kids hit to a par 3 I was putting on and I had to teach em a lesson
Nice
A few of the holes had very challenging inclinations. Some real slopes! Nice peaceful area. Course was well maintained. People very friendly. Fairway and greens well cared for.
Great hidden Gem
A shorter course, with thin fairways. The greens are really fast and well kept! My one complaint would be how tight everything is. The holes can be too close (I played with someone who got hit by a non-fore calling player).
