Ghost Story
I arrived for a round and quickly checked in, on the 1st tee box I summoned my 60° and attempted to get some baby boy chips in to get the hands going EARLY. Out of the corner of my eye, a ranger appeared through the early morning fog. "I wouldn't if I was you" he boomed in a ridiculously deep voice. FINE , I'll do it live. Arriving at the first green, I almost puked after getting my first view of the "greens". The entire thing was sand, not a sprinkle, like a full coat. Like I thought the green was a tusken raider outpost on Tatooine. It truly was a disgrace to the game of golf. My will to dominate my friends in a scramble prevented me from walking off the course. As we finished on 18 that same ranger appears out of no where and leans in whispering "enjoy your round big dog...?" Then whips his cart away, cackling like a comic villain. I'm pretty sure he was a ghost or something and the course is actually a portal to the underworld, not positive though. The Taylor Ham Egg and Cheese at the turn was awesome. 3 stars
wha happened???
tee boxes, fairways, roughs were fine. But the "greens" were slightly better than an baseball infield. The greens that weren't all dirt were infested with crabgrass. Only the 17th and 18th green were greens. I love playing here, but this was not good. I'd return because I like the course - but my expectation for the the putting part of my game is OUT THE WINDOW. Hopefully the new groundskeeper can get the greens back to playability. Or just shut down the holes and give the greens a chance to grow back.

The greens were legitimately sand on most of the holes, it was almost impossible to hit a putt. Would not recommend.

This place should be shut down. The greens are destroyed and buried under sand. What a disaster!

Should be closed because of greens
They lost all of the greens, how can the charge anyone? You’re putting on dirt and sand.

This course was atrocious. The “greens” where actually sand. The course was poorly maintained and in terrible shape. The best part of the round was the half way shack for overpriced waters and hot dogs. This was an experience I wish I could have back.

Awful.
Just an awful round of golf. The “greens” are pits of sand, not a blade of grass in sight. I’ve never seen anything like it. Rangers don’t care about pace which was equally terrible. Starter told us (2-some) to go to the first hole and ask if anyone else had the same tee time. If there was no one there, tee off when we “felt like it.” Been here before and will never go back.
ALL of the greens are burned out. no grass to be found other than some clumps of crabgrass. I'd imagine it's like playing on the surface of the moon
course was in terrible shape. putting on any of the greens was the worst I've ever seen. no mention of this at the counter, or online. no one around at the turn for food or drinks either.

East Orange
I know the weather has been brutal this summer but there was not one blade of grass on any of the greens. The course was virtually unplayable because of the condition of the greens. I have played there earlier this summer and it was not nearly as bad as this. Hopefully they can come back

Worse course ever
The course was so bad the greens look like a desert if you were to compare this to minebrook with is not a good course makes minebrook look like a 5 star course

The course is DEAD!
This is the worst course condition I have ever played! I can't believe that the course is open. From tee to green...it's either weeds, dirt, mushrooms and/or sand. I guess no one cares? The pictures are the greens for Hole 1 & 2....it did not get any better the rest of the way.

Do not play - Course is in terribly bad shape!
I will pop into this course on a whim as it is seven minutes from my house but I will not be going back anytime soon.
While I understand that it has been hot and dry out, I would expect the greens would be kept up somewhat and that they would not focus on fairway upkeep as much. Instead, it seem like they have given up maintaining the course at all. The greens are mostly sand and covered in sprouts of weeds. They are actually in worse shape than the fairways.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
Their greens are more than 75% sand, no grass whatsoever. Unacceptable to not let people know until after they've paid for their round. Go play somewhere else.

Greens had no grass
This place is a joke. No signs or notices that none of the greens are actual greens. Has 0 grass. Just sand. They burnt the grass. It was awful. No notification nothing. $65 round should’ve been $5

Yes the course is not what it was last year or even earlier this year. Let’s show the course some love. EO is a great walking course. Easily accessible and fun. Just that The weather did not cooperate this year. Next will be better.
