Worst course ever
The greens were actually yellow, they shut down back nine and didn’t tell anyone that booked that day. There was a youth clinic in the middle of the Day that nobody was informed about so it was a free for all after completing my first 9. No starter to direct us eithee

What The F Happened Here?
I like this course. Usually fair price and the layout is interesting. Played the course 3 weeks ago and it was in decent shape. But something changed. Booked a round yesterday not knowing that front 9 was closed and the round consisted of the back 9 twice. So the pace was slow but that, sad to say, was the good part. The greens and fairways are in terrible shape. Every green is partially or completely bare. Maybe it's due to lack of rain but they are unplayable. The fairways are overgrown and mushy. I really liked this course and hope that it makes a comeback. I know I, and the people in my foursome, won't be playing it again in 2022.

Course condition
Played for the first time in late June course was in fairly good shape. Played last week and condition was horrible. Will not play or recommend this course

Insult to golf
Course is essentially unplayable, smelly, and full of weeds, sand and poop. I do not recommend.

Disappointing
Have played here several times in the last few years and course was usually in nice shape but this time the tea boxes are overgrown and weeds everywhere and the greens were completely burnt out other then 18 with lots of thick grass and weeds growing in the greens. Sorry to see this knowing the money put into the course recently.

Course was in horrible condition tee box’s were terrible and the greens were like putting in a bunker and if they didn’t have sand there were weeds everywhere you could even putt correctly.

the greens were mostly compacted sand with no grass.

No upkeep whatsoever
Played here multiple times this year. Earlier this season not that bad at all. Fairways and greens pretty good. Go yesterday not one person mentions that half the greens are dead with weeds growing everywhere another few are completely covered in sand and still make you pay the full price. Just unbelievable how poorly it has been kept and very disappointing no one there would say anything to inform their customers of the poor conditions. Unfortunate because the food at the turn and the restaurant are pretty good.

Awful
Don’t play here. The greens are gone. No grass just dirt and weeds. No joke. If you do go check out the practice green it’s in the same condition.
The course is otherwise ok for what it is.
I’ve been playing for 40+ years and I’ve never seen a course in worse condition. It’ll be months before the greens are playable again.

OMG
Don’t play here. Don’t do it. It should be the perfect place for a newer/average golfer but the conditions were just so bad. I’ve been playing golf for 40 years I’ve never played on such a terrible course.
There is literally no grass in half the greens. And when there was a bit of green it was crab grass. Tees and fairways were not as bad but that doesn’t mean they were good.
The City of East Orange should get out of the golf business. This place is an embarrassment. Saw signed about aeration next week. I thought it was a joke…..why would they even bother, there’s nothing left to aerate, i

The Greens were awful
If I had known the greens were so bad I would not have played here. No one indicated that they were bad even though I should have known considering what the practice green looked like !

What happened to this place?
Absolutely no course management. Started of with the guy in the office who acted as if we were bothering him. No carts, took 15 minutes to get one. The line at the 1st tee had a twosome, 2 threesomes, and a single, and not a starter in sight. The 1st in line was a threesome and they actually had the latest tee time of all the groups. Five greens were covered in sand, not because they were aerated, but because they were so burnt out they decided to cover them up with sand. This is usually a fun round, but yesterday was a bummer. They should close for a couple of weeks and repair the course.

Hmmmmm
Not sure if it's the weather or staffing - but the greens have many more blotches of crab grass, Other than the crab grass on the greens the fairways, sand traps and roughs were fine. The tee boxes can use a little watering too.
Other than that - staffing is always friendly. This day - golfers were friendly too!
Geese are starting to make a comeback. 8-(

Terrible conditions
I get the summer has been rough, but those greens were sand and in some cases weeds. Impossible to putt or have a decent round since even pitching into them was a new experience.
If this had been a 20 dollar round I’d be more inclined to let it go, but at 65…
