Go to course for last minute play
I go here if I decide to play at last minute as it is near me. The course is just OK, folks who work are nice, but it is not maintained. The greens are more brown than green. I wish they spend some time and money on the maintenance of the course.
Keeps getting worse
Let me start by saying the layout and amenities of this course are awesome. Short, walkable course with a good halfway house and great restaurant. But the conditions and staffing are terrible. Staff are moderately friendly but don’t care about pace of play at all. Conditions get worse every time I give this place a chance. Greens so untreated that you don’t have a chance on any putts, fairways and greens growing all sorts of weeds and other grass it’s not even funny. Unfortunately taking this one off the list.

In a matter of 2 weeks the course conditions were VERY bad. Fairways were covered in weeds and the greens were brown with a bunch of divots and patches on them. Such a shame considering I played there 2 weeks prior and none of that was an issue

Could be a decent course…
If they cared more about course conditions, this course could be so much better. Lets start with the wasp nest on the 6th green. It has been there for over a year and only getting worse. I can’t imagine it is too expensive or too much work to eradicate them. Get this done before people get seriously hurt. Or lower the price since an entire hole is unplayable.
The rest of the greens are also in very poor shape with way too many ball markings/divots/patches etc. We dont expect them to be pristine, but the current condition is almost unplayable.
The tee boxes are in poor condition.
The sand bunkers are in bad shape.
The wait time gets really bad. Children under 18 should be accompanied by an adult.
If they took care of these glaring issues this would be a good local course. Until then I cant recommend it to anyone.

I like it
Good course, I’ve played it before. The only thing that made it not as enjoyable was they didn’t have water at every or every other hole. It was brutally hot.

Need to fix the beehive situation on the 6th hole
Love playing here great value laid back environment, but you can’t even go on the green of the 6th hole with all the bees or wasps whatever they are.

Favorite public Course
Definitely my favorite public course to play at. Well kept and staff is friendly. I enjoy coming here.

East Orange GC is what it is
This is a good ego booster golf course. Open fairways, straightforward consistently slow greens. Mostly pretty short. So it can be a fun place to play. The layout is great considering the space it is squeezed into. A couple of the par 3s are ridiculously short, that's my only problem with it but you still have to make shots to par. Don't go too far out of your way to play it but if it's within a 30 minute drive it provides great value for the money and the restaurant/bar is very good too for a GC.

Ok course
Be aware cart NOT included. Had to pay $10 extra when I arrived. I was paired with 3 other ok to bad players that were slloow. Otherwise okay course that was too dry in parts and muddy in others.

Pretty dry but slow greens
Course looked like it needed a solid weeks worth of watering. Lots of dry patches and dry grass. Sprinklers were being turned on during the middle of the day. Pace of play was average, 4:20 round. Overall, well worth the price.
