nice
I was impressed on how at this late stage of fall, that the fairways and greens were leaf free and the fairways and greens were much improved
Still a favorite
The people that work there are very nice. The course is only 9 holes but you can pay to play twice for 18. You only pay for the cart once, so the second round is only $13.00 more than what you paid to play the first nine. The greens are a problem for me. I believe the regs require four sq. ft. around the holes be level and flat. A 1\4 inch miss will roll 8-12 feet past the hole. The pace of play is usually good, but as on any course, very slow groups ruin a good day. Common courtesy dictates that they should invite faster players to play through. Rangers should enforce the rule. All in all, I like the place !
Roll the greens
Greens are rough. Aerated and undulating. 4 puts needed for 2 putt player. All else ok.
Try it, you'll like it!
My only concern is with the greens. Usually great but recently not so good. Small to begin with and holes not usually on level area 3x3.
Staff is genuinely friendly and wanting to resolve your concerns. Also, seems to have a popular First Tee program with practice facilities.
It is way better than Forge Pond in Brick.
Nice place to play golf
Has been nice place for years. As with all courses, maintenence issues arise as weather changes. This so much nicer than Forge Pond I'm Brick.
Only nine holes but you can pay and play twice.
Great Value/Great Staff
A fun, well kept municipal 9 hole golf course which allows for a quick (sub 2 hour) round of golf. Great staff, there is a chipping area where you can practice chipping onto green and in or over bunker (included with a paid round), which is nice. Can't beat the value .
ROLL THE GREENS
I first played years ago and it was the greens that hooked me. Unfortunately, I can't say that now. In fact, it is the condition of the greens and hole placement that deters me. They are small to begin with so ragged rolling makes them less appealing. I recommend they roll them, place the hole in a level area, and consider expanding them. Hard enough to get on in 2. Then 2-4 putts is not unusual but the norm. Could be the best little course out there, if the powers that be, listen!
Not long but we’ll maintained
Nice course. I could see it getting backed up at times since there appeared to be quite a few beginners. Staff friendly. Course in good shape. Greens were fast
Some TLC needed
Always loved to play there, especially the greens. However, recently, the ball rolls wayward. They may need rolling, especially around the holes.
Greens need work
A good little 9 hole course. Used to be able to play 2X for 18. Now you can play 2X but you must pay the walking fee I e not the cart fee 2X.
Greens were an important draw for me, but recently it seems they are not leveled. Also pin placement not on flat area. Balls don't seem to roll true. I don't think it's me.
Great value, hidden gem quick 9 holes
I've played dozens of times, going back over 15 years to when it was privately owned and poorly maintained. It has always been a great value to get a quick round in, and I can say I've never had a bad experience.
Since it has become a municipal course, it is now so much more than that. 9 hole full setup with par 5s that challenge with layout instead of distance. Greens are meticulously maintained, and small in size, so hard to hit and land. I'd advise anyone playing the first time aim for the front of the greens. The blue tees are a unique challenge for advanced golfers, not because of overwhelming distance but rather tight windows and tree trouble, well placed sand, and greens that are hard to hold.
