had a great time, was a little slow because of a Fivesome in front of us. we played a scramble and it took 5 hours. but we had a great time. love the course. Steve
Fun course Tree lined
I liked the golf course except that it feels like 11 holes are above average and than some kinda bland holes - over all greens were great - staff was great - price awesome

It is a beautiful course! The staff was friendly. They should have water available.
First Round of The Year
I liked the course but it was very soggy from the spring rains. The greens were in excellent shape thou. Pace was good until a shotgun started on our 16th hole. All in all, not a bad way to spend half a day.

Was really excited about playing, being that I've never been here.The anticipation was building as we drove in. The course looked beautiful. We did find some soggyness in the low areas, but w/ 5+ inches of rain the last week, what else could you expect. Overall the course was in good shape. Very fast greens & long fairways made it a great round. Based on the drive & the price, I'll definitely be back.
Would be thr last place I would play at
Play was very slow, jumped a head three holes to speed up play, course does not drain, so any rain makes it a mess.
Plenty of challenges
The course was in great shape & the greens were in great condition & rolled true. I was playing with my brother-in-law who only plays several times a year. The course was fair enough for him & challenging enough for me, which was nice. I would certainly play this course again next year when I am back in MN.

narrow tree lined fairways. good condition. tough.
5 hours to play is a drawback but I'd do it again. Narrow tree lined fairways make it tough despite a shorter length. No level spots on the greens either. Good condition. Real challenge.
I thought the course was in great shape
I never played here before, I thought the course was well maintained and fun to play. I know I will be back to play it again!
Beautiful
Purple hawk is a great course that is obviously well taken care of. The fairways are short and lush and the greens are fast and tough. A good test for most players and for big hitters you'll want to hit from the tips as the par 4s can get a little short from the whites. They also hand out a guide book with distances which came in handy.
Worth the Drive
1 hour north of the twin cities, this coarse is worth checking out. Bent grass fairways, well maintained fringes and approaches make putting from the fringe a definite possibility. Greens fast and true - very well kept. Nice bonus is a caddies book given to each group before heading out. Knowledgeable and super-friendly pro-shop personnel! Will be coming back for sure.
Fun course for the sportsman. Not for the have fun players. A moderate challenge.
I like to challenge myself from the whites. With an 18 handicap I find this course to suit me just fine with it's 131 rating from the whites. Long and dog legs but wide enough to keep the ball in play.

Great value at the last minute.
We played on Sunday, 7/7/13 with a start time of 1:08. We finished before 5:00 so the pace of play was great and the course was in really good condition, especially the greens. My wife and I have played Purple Hawk many times over the last few years and I was worried about possible wet conditions on the course with all of the rain that we have experienced this year. Even in the low areas on the course there was no problem. Great job by the grounds crew! We"ll be back!
nice layout
This is a nicely setup course. It has long and short holes in all the 3,4,and 5's. It is very well manicured with very fast greens that roll true. I'll definitely play there again.

The greens were in excellent condition. Alot of blind drives.. Nice bar w/ pull tabs
good conditions for the way sping has been
Greens, tee boxes and fairways were in very good shape for the way the spring has been. The greens were quite fast an rolked smooth. We got out at 12:30 and got our round in 3 hours. We only had to wait on the last 3 holes and had no one directly behind us. A fun round at a good price thanks to Golf Now

wasn't busy when i played so play was very fast pace. loved it.
