Golfer Reviews
Great course for beginners and intermediate players
Greater boxes and greens. Wide fairways. Accessible greens. Nice new traps on some holes. Very nice players on courses. Friendly staff. Will come again from Bergen County
Staff rude and course markets 18 holes but you play 9
I booked on Golfnow to play 18 holes after playing nine holes a sign said it was closed at the 10th hole. That was a ranger hiding at the 11th hole so I drove over to him.I spoke with him and he said it’s not my problem. Go speak with the office. I asked him if it was closed and he said no. when I got there it was closed. I saw other staff members outside of the office when I asked them. They were extremely rude and told me there’s nothing they can do. It says it on the website that if you tee off after 3:30 you cannot play 18 holes. My tee time was at 3:45. I explained to them I booked 18 and they didn’t care. They said: “if I don’t like it, don’t play here they sell out all the time”.
Great conditions
I use to play here years ago and it was always terrible. I was so pleasantly surprised to see how different it is now, how well it is being taken care of really well managed. Greens, fairways and sand traps are all in great shape, even a nice restaurant. Had a great Saturday afternoon there - recommend it highly!
Where's the ranger?
Pace of play is pretty bad at Preakness. They really need a ranger to monitor pace of play. There's was a lot of waiting, where the group behind us was cursing at the group in front of us for being slow (the front group had 3 kids in it, who were taking multiple shots each). The gnats are a major problem at this course...while they don't bite, they constantly fly into your orifices (Eear, nose, mouth, and eyes).
Easy
Friendly staff really enjoy the East layout, course in great condition. Can’t beat it with the senior rate. Lotta fun
Solid
Can get pretty darn slow with no rangers enforcing pace of play. Course is in pretty good shape though. Would ge great if they had water jugs or if the one water fountain worked.
Summer Friday
Excellent all the way around! Great staff and wonderful course
The course is in great shape, I would recomend it to anyone.
Excellent Green condition
The green condition was so great. I've never seen like this excellent green conditions. Also staffs were very friendly.
Solid Golf Course and Good Value
Fairly well maintained public golf course. The green speeds were a little inconsistent, but overall they were pretty smooth. The fairways, rough, and sand traps were excellent for a daily fee course. Great value for $70 riding 18 holes. The 3 1/2 hour round at 8 am was greatly appreciated.
