Preakness Valley Golf Course - East

Fairly well maintained public golf course. The green speeds were a little inconsistent, but overall they were pretty smooth. The fairways, rough, and sand traps were excellent for a daily fee course. Great value for $70 riding 18 holes. The 3 1/2 hour round at 8 am was greatly appreciated.

This is a really good county course. Not too difficult with a nice layout. The golf carts just stink. Gas powered no GPS. Other than that, really like playing either 18 hole course. Really upgraded nicely last couple of years

I brought a few out of towners to play and for the price, conditions and total atmosphere of the day we had a blast.

The only problem I ever have is actually getting some early tee times.

The course is in good shape and fairly easy to follow. I walked it and even though it was super-hot, we did not have an issue. Pace a play was a bit rough cause of the group in front of us searching for lost balls for a bit too long. But we did finish in a bit over 4 hours. Checking in staff and starter were good, we did stop at the bar after our round and the bartender seemed to be a bit annoyed. I get it, since it was close to closing time, but not pleasant. Overall, I would definitely play here again.

First time on East Course. Short, but interesting. Enjoyed the layout. Pace of play was great, finishing in under 4 hours. Preakness is so well maintained and staff was nice and welcoming. Looking forward to playing it again.

I've played the West Course several times in the past really good experiences. Slow play is often a risk at muni courses, but our group got stuck behind a foursome that had no concept of ready golf (and they were in carts; we caught them on hole 2). We tried to be patient but decided to skip hole 5 to pass them (2 holes were open ahead of them) and a ranger didn't come by until we finished the 6th and were heading to hole 7. Greens looked like they were aerated a couple of weeks ago and hadn't yet been rolled (fairly slow), which is not unusual for his time of year. However, the bigger issue was that there is construction on the course which materially shortened holes 15 & 16, with hole 16 having the flag stuck in the middle of the fairway (no putting green at all). This should have been disclosed on the website and/or at check-in, and frankly, they shouldn't charge full price for rounds that cannot be included in a GHIN handicap. I will not return (and wouldn't recommend this course to anyone) until the construction is complete and holes 15 & 16 are returned to their normal length.

Very well run county course. Friendly staff and nice conditions. Will definitely go back whenever I get a chance!
