Pine Hills Country Club

About
Pine Hills Country Club sprawls cross 165 acres of Long Island's protected Pine Barrens. The golf course plays long at over 7,000 yards from the back tees but it is a playable and fair test. It is challenging as well with quite a bit of water and sand coming into play throughout. Towering, mature pines also line narrow fairways. One of the most difficult holes is the par-4 11th. This dogleg left is one of the many holes with water and it also features a green that is severely sloped from back to front. While the golf course is the main attraction, Pine Hills is also known for having the area's best public practice facility. The club boasts a driving range with target greens, a putting green with a 9-hole practice course, and a chipping green with a greenside sand trap.

Reviews
Well kept
At this time of year with the leaves coming down you lose a lot of golf balls the maintenance crew there has done a very good job of keeping the course clear
Great experience
Where to begin...how about the exceptional practice area. Has everything you need to help your game. Tremendous putting green, chipping area, bunkers and grass driving range. The course itself, tee to green is in perfect condition as always.
Finish it off at JC's , which could possibly be one of the best restaurants on Long Island.
Best Course On The East End
Played golf on a nice fall day. The course and greens were excellent shape! The maintenance staff always cares about up keeping the course. Course is wide open and really no out of bounds. The track is really long and have to be good off the tee. The greens can be really tricky. Suggest look at it twice before putting. Always will come back here and be my you to course.
I'd recommend
This course has always been one of my favorites ...it is always in great shape and the greens are always true and quick and also in great shape. I would definitely recommend this course. Grabbing a bite to eat or a beer on the outside patio after a round is also a plus.
Great practice facility quality course
I enjoy getting here early to pitch, chip and putt, even hit the driving range. Very friendly staff. Course is in great condition, 4 sets of tees for all levels of golfers. Great value
Liked the course.....however in fairness to the purchaser.
Greens were recently aerated, which made putting very challenging. I realize this is aeration season however, I feel that the course should advise the purchaser of this particular course condition.
Long Island gem
Great condition,
Friendly staff,
Good pace,
Nice layout,
Great value!
Very Disappointed
I've played here in the past so I know they can do better but yesterday it took us 3 hours and 25 minutes to finish the front nine. That time doesn't include teeing off a half hour late. The back nine wasn't much better. Our tee time was for 1:30pm and we only got 16 holes in before dark. There were at least five groups waiting at the first tee and two to three groups at every other tee. The starter kept saying, "There's nothing we can do. It's just a crazy day." Really? Even with the slow play there was an empty hole two groups ahead of us. Where was the ranger? We jumped two holes to get passed them and still had to wait at every tee. A 1:30 tee time and we finished 16 holes at 7:25pm.
Will be back.
It has been years since I played Pine Hills, and I am happy I went back. The course is in very good condition with well manicured fairways and rough that is only somewhat punitive. If I have a complaint it would be that I found the greens to just be too slow. I am not suggesting that the course should go to the opposite end of the spectrum, but you had to really hit a 15 footer to get it to the cup, that is just too slow.
The rest of the course is interesting and the layout different with a par of 73!
fair course tests your game
found course in excellent shape, greens were very well kept, rolled nicely, greens were protected by bunkers
would play again

Extremely slow
Don't ever book a Tuesday afternoon hot deal at this place, they conviently put hot deal directly behind a woman's league of 60 senior citezins, unless you enjoy a 6 hour round to save $10
