muni with very slow greens
nice views of the sound and layout of the back was nice. Front was short and tight. Greens were so slow on a Friday morning. Played with a local who told us they usually are that slow.
Hire a Real Greenskeeper
Ridiculously slow and bumpy greens. Cut too high, never rolled, it’s like putting on temporary greens. And what a waste of a good layout! I regularly play Bethpage, Smithtown Landing, Timber Point and other courses through GolfNow and the condition of the greens at Crab Meadow are so slow and lacking in true roll that it will ruin your round. It’s been a constant complaint among players for years but head greenskeeper refuses to react to the feedback. Here’s a tip ....go visit any other local or private course and compare their greens to yours. Find out what a stimpmeter is and buy a machine to roll the greens. Please!
Greens are slow and bumpy.
Course has gone downhill.
Years ago used to be a nice track and fun layout.
Now they keep the greens real fuzzy, bumpy and slow and no one cares here.
Many nicer options nearby.
Crab Meadow Golf Course
Crab Meadow is a very nice course with some beautiful vistas . The course was in good condition from fairways to greens and was fun to play. The sand bunkers were in good condition with real sand. The course is open and fairly challenging and even forgiving when it comes to stray shots. Well. worth the Price! .

I was happy to play this Course but, Greens are Slow and No Water in the Ball Cleaner.

Gps in carts
A couple of years ago they installed Gps in carts, which is nice. However they also have a computer that keeps you out of the fairway.. cart will come to complete stop. Get use to it after a while
A December Round
Upon checking in there were 2 guys behind the desk and maybe 15 golfers out on the course. They questioned my golf now reservation. Even when I showed it on my phone they still at to discuss whether to let me out. There was maybe 15 people on the course so why the hesitation.
Great round for Dec, started off about misty but cleared up. There is no longer any bar or food service since the company providing the service quit
Spacious
Course is nicely spaced, but there were no signs stating the hole # or where the next hole is located, making it difficult to follow for someone playing the course for the first time.
