Crab Meadow Golf Course

The course staff didn’t tell us about the temporary green nor did they tell us about the six or seven greens that had fungus and aeration. The greens rolled horrible I’ve been playing grab meadow for years and now that the town took over it is run by kids who have NO CLUE. Waste of my time to play. And will never play again. Also the golf carts get restricted in the middle of fairways for about half the course

Honestly it was a beautiful course, but the greens were very inconsistent, and in some cases very below average upkeep wise. They did let us know that some of the greens had a grass disease, but it made for a very poor putting situation.

Played yesterday at 6:17. In a word “ terrible”

The greens!! How could a professional greenskeeper completely lose

Half of the greens and the other half slow and bumpy like putting in 15 year old carpeting . It’s been hot for all the courses on Long Island !

Have to see to believe. Actual jokes on greens. Many grasses areas.

Would never play again for free!!

Over all course layouts is nice , beautiful view. Very friendly staff. When you get to the green.

Forget about it .

Great layout, course is well maintained and beautiful. Also visually appealing Rolling hills And a bit forgiving Only issue were the greens. A bit bumpy. I did tee off at 2:30 to be fair

Booked this tee time last minute yesterday for a 608 tee off this morning.

Get to the golf course to find they are not allowing electric carts on the course and they ran out of pull carts.

We were the 7 or 8 foursome out and they ran out of pull carts?

It is going to be in the upper 90 with heat index over 100

Toe this is unacceptable the excuse for no electric carts were rain the night before. We had minimal rain last night and haven’t they ever heard of cart path only????

Needless to say wake up 4 AM looking forward to a round of golf with my son and we wound up not golfing

Golfnow pls make sure I am refunded my fees for this course

Disappointed to say the least as I have golfed here before and it is a nice public course

The irrigation is not ideal. Several holes are car path only. Some holes the portion of the fairway are car path only. In #8 hole there’s a lot of geese poops.

This was my first visit back to Crab Meadow in 10+ years. I am not a Town of Huntington resident and had previously found it difficult to get tee times not being a resident. I saw there was availability on the course using GolfNow and booked a time. The course was in great condition and the staff were very friendly and supportive. The pace of play was excellent. The only negative issue was the speed of the greens. They are in excellent condition but just very slow.

Also could use a little more ranger appearances

Play was a little slow as a foursome , we had to wait on a twosome, but I will book again.

I’ve been playing Crab Meadow for many years. It is never been in better shape. The greens are not the fastest but that that’s not take away from the experience. It is a fantastic layout and a hidden gem.

Was very excited to play this course, however I was let down. The rate included a golf cart but the staff did not allow cart use while we saw other courses in the area using carts. The weather was perfect and the fairways were dry and at a minimum it could have been cart path only. The greens are my next complaint. The greens are too thick and looking like they have not been properly maintained. The view however was very nice of the sound. Was disappointed overall.

Horrible greens, landscaping was terrible, and they had a “no cart” rule after we paid for carts. Would never reccomend!

This a 20$ pitch and putt. Greens cut to the same length as fairways, what a joke. No maintenance, should be called crab grass and dandelion. But hey, great sand traps!!

No ranger out there, got bumped from our team time so two foursomes could play together. Ended up behind them and a 5 hour round. Course conditions were as expected but staff was awful
